I checked the rest under the macro lens, didn't take photos, but nothing showed up. Initially I thought a few were fractured at the root, but it was a witness mark in grease!

Yes, that's my worry. I'll recess the magnet into the plug, but I want to coat the thing in something as well, so that the chrome plating on the magnet doesn't delaminate.

In my knutian task of preventing wear in my overdrive, I'm going to adapt the drain plugs by adding magnets.
What's a good adhesive to use?

I do wonder why so many of these units are wrecked, could be poor maintenance? Aggressive driving in a range rover?
Or just a weak design. The series unit was never great.

Someone got pulled for this a few years ago. In the end as that could be pinned on them was no tacho, as they were in business. Once it's safe, within limits, and seriously, seriously secured, then why not? Any worse than a glider trailer? Or a horse box? But I'm not a lawyer, so know nothing.
