  1. Hiya Guys - doing a complete new project involving Disco 1 running gear. First job is to rebuild both axles. Really looking for a blow up assembly diagram that idiots can follow - can anyone help/suggest anything please?
  2. Hiya - desperate desperate to find a roll of this stuff - can you highlight where you got it from please?
  3. ok many thanks - thought thats what you meant - will do the others first and then presumably these final welds will become obvious. Thanks for your help.
  4. Thanks - What sort of running along over the top of the spat? - and i have heard that you can get round re-spot welding by using sikaflex adhesive - chap at an LR approved bodyshop told me thats what they do... any thoughts
  5. Hiya - got one to do on my mates ex-mod 90 and just wondering what sort of a job it is? - obviously i can see cappings need to be removed and lots of pop rivets but are there any other fixings like spot welds nearer to the door? - can anyone advise please?
  6. Thanks Dave - thats magic - yes its the rear panel that im changing - im also advised, there are some spotwelds underneath the top capping and some by the door aperture - thats cool - i'll do it tomorrow. Thanks everyone for their help
  7. Hiya - yes its damaged - quite badly, I have a new one which clearly shows the returns in the panelwork but there are limited pre-drilled fixings holes within it along the capping lines which suggests that you drill your own using the cappings as guides...? - the two crossmember bolt fixing holes are present - so perhaps you use them first to ensure its in the right position......?
  8. Bod - traction control only works side to side on a Defender - not front to back so if like the other have said - you could hear the modulator chattering away the TC was operating but in a cross axle situation your stuffed still. On a D3, Sport etc - its more sophisticated and works across the axles and back to front.
  9. Need to change the offside rear panel before i put a hardtop onto the car - it looks like its just a case of drilling the rivets out on the top and side capping and removing the two crossmember bolts.......... Has anyone done it and if so can they please confirm for me.
  10. You mention an articulation - so a weel of each axle off the ground yes? - if so Traction control on a defender will not overly assist you as it only works side to side - not front to back.
  11. Hiya - an old subject but could do with some fresh clear advice from people whove done it. Ive just bought a Classic Range rover with a useful 200 unit in it - what exactly are the absoloute musts to purchase and what could be utilised from the Classic... appreciate anyones help
  12. Thanks guys - dont like the big 'cushion' - looks like something i cant mention but hey I'll keep looking
  13. Anyone out there changed a 90 'pre defender' steering wheel to a Tdi one - and if so, does the Tdi one fit ?
  14. here's one for you guys & girls - how do i doi it without bolt on bits from halfords - ive seen a hydraulic system in the past which locks the clutch pedal solid after turning a key on the dash - cant seem to locate a manufacturer now - anyone got any bright ideas?
