  1. I had a problem with the starting of my Td5 a while back and it turned out to be a wire problem at the fuse box. seems the vibrations has chaffed through the insulation on a core and that was stopping me getting fuel sorted that and ran the auto bleed but still nothing. A simple bump start got me going and since then it starts fine.
  2. Ye it had a first service at one year and is about to go for its second. I'll raise it with them again and tell them what it feels like see what happens.
  3. 2016 3.2 No codes when i stuck it into the garage and because it wasn't showing the symptoms at the time of going in they couldn't do anything. Leaving it off for a few mins and trying again normally sorts it.
  4. Ye mine just seems to sound like its really struggling to get fuel and just stops, normally only happens when i park on a hill facing upwards. other than that small problem its been great! loads of room for the dogs in the back and no wet dog smell!
  5. I've just had a couple of little problems with mine, some times when you turn the engine on it sounds like its struggling for fuel and splutters and cuts out. when it goes in for another service i'll bring it back to the attention see if a filters blocked somewhere. Other than that my wild track 2016 has been great. i get about 27mpg AVG
  6. Ok that's great to hear. I'll have plenty of photos of the rebuild as well encase questions get asked.
  7. As my vapor build comes slightly closer to fruition, I'm looking at replacing my crusty chassis with a brand new galv one but at the same time I'm looking at changing the TD5 and gearbox to something a bit more powerful and petrol. I'm not to clued up on the process but the chassis is like for like but the engine is different so I take it I can inform them of both changes at the same time? And that would cover me? the DVLA website inst that helpful at getting right to the point! If anyone has any info on the process that would be grand.
  8. Hey, After numerous fault finding, replacement fuel pump and fuel it turned out to be a break in the insulation of a cable in the fuse box where it had been rubbing on the metal mounting plate to the bulkhead. Repaired that and jump started and all running now but unfortunately my chassis is worse for ware so not been on the road since getting it back up and running. The hardest part of this to fault find was the fact i was reading the correct voltage to the fuel pump but under any load of running the pump the break in the insulation caused the pump to not actually run.
  9. Well I was planning on sticking a roll cage in if I stay with the normal defender route, as I've got previous of parking on the roof! The sort of thing I was thinking of was this Then have an internal hoop behind the front seats. That way it wouldn't inter fear with the opening of that front portion.
  10. I'm considering it but would need to find out if a half external half internal roll cage could be made up for it. Unsure of strength of said roof and sides. This build is getting more pricey the longer I am at work!
  11. Hey all, Been looking at possible things for my land rover rebuild and happen to come across a land rover with a different top and sides than usual. After a long while searching the web finally got round to finding the make. Atleast these are sold by french website http://www.top-fleuret.com/ was wondering if anyone on here has seen or even got one of these in person?
  12. thanks for all the reply's going go try some of these things tomorrow.
  13. Pumps working, checked the fuel cut of switch primed it 3 times for 3 mins each till pump went off. Thats exactly what the manual says so I'm kinda stumped here. mmmm anything else it could be as it was working fine before.
  14. Hello all, got a little problem with my 1999 Td5 90 it all started when the fuel pump gave up the ghost so I've now fitted the new pump and replaced the fuel filter and followed the purge / bleed out of the haynes manual. But all I seem to get now is the land rover turning over but failing to start, also my brother noticed that there was quite a bit of white / Gray smoke coming from the exhaust while I was trying to start it. So basicly had anyone got any ideas where to start to look for the problem to get me started again? as the fuel system is something I've never worked on up in till now. Thanks Keith.
  15. I made a couple for my land rover 90 i'll have a look for some pictures, takes just a couple of hours to make from start t finnish once you have all the bits and bobs. Found some pics little blury but you get the idea and i think it looks good also didthe rear door and floor andwheel arches. If this is what your lookign for reply back ad i'll give you the list of thing i used and how i did it. Also after the pics were taken i covered the screw heads wit a black cap and that just finnishes off the sides.
