  1. Yes have to agree, my rear door failed first so I got a set of 5 springs and Ive fitted 3 springs now rear door and 2 rear passenger ones fiddley job but only a 1 brew job
  2. Hia. Yes I fitted one to my brothers Disco a few years ago, treated myself to an angle driver for for battery drill, he held the trim in place, I put the screws in. Very easy to do, I bought one like this from Billing years ago http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/clarke-rad-2-right-angle-drill-attachment Ziggy
  3. Right thanks for those ideas guys, will be keeping my eyes out for another set of disco wheels, will just buy new road tyres and keep BF for off road trips only, The 110 wheels and tyres can go for sale. Many Thanks
  4. Hia, Ive been looking to change the tyres on the Disco as im running BF Mud Terrain LT 235, 70 R 16 on Original Disco Ali wheels Ive been offered 5 Michelin (hardly worn)4x4 Sycrone 205/ 80 R16 on Steel Defender Rims. So if I do a full swap over, BF on Steel for off road and Mich 4x4 on Ali for on road. 1, will the steel wheels fit my studs? 2, will the Mich 4x4 be ok on the Ali as narrower tyre? 3, will the BF be ok in the Steel wheels 4, will i need to change speedo because of taller Mich 4x4 Many Thanks Ziggy
  5. Ive also been looking for a Pressure checker but some of them you have to throw away when the batteries go!! I did find this on from Maplin so may look closer at this one..good price too http://www.maplin.co.uk/wireless-tyre-pressure-monitoring-system-390208
  6. Another trick i dont use on my transit van is...slacken throttle cable off a good few turns, and put a big thick lump of carpet under the rubber mat, it stops them from thrashing the nuts of the engine, its not worked a few times now the rest is just welding!!!! Ziggy
  7. Hia Bri Save your pennies and get a repair kit, i did my brothers disco dash a few years ago and it does a proper job and looks very good afterwards, i went to local diy shop and got one of those angle drill screwdriver attachments to so i could put the screws in without the screen being in the way, You know it makes sence!! Clive
  8. Hia Andy So whats an HID kit? Ziggy
  9. Thanks for your input Looks like i need to do some shopping, Im intending keeping the Disco for a few years so im happy to upgrade, i take it the if i also go for high watts i may have to change wiring and fuses, I think i will go for the max i can with headlamps then get a very good pair of extra driving lights, Many thanks Ziggy
  10. Hia Folks Ive just got myself a nice 300 tdi Disco that once had some nice spot/driving lights, these are all rotted out and scrap, so i need to get new ones, have you got the perfect ones on yours?? what type are they?? is it worth upgrading the headlights to. Many thanks
  11. Bloomin cold feet

  12. MMMMM well the freebie has got sticky interior windows, controls and bits. I think it must be the heater matrix inside the vehicle leaking, ive done a temp job with a rad seal but need to think long term. Has any one replaced a matrix themselvs or is it a garage job? i know its a lot of bits to remove but just how much can i get away with removing? many thanks in expectation of lots of replies..lol
  13. You dont get one then they all come at once, my 110 was off the road so i borrowed my brothers Disco to go to the Isle of Mull, going through Glasgow on the motorway i ran over one onf those cheap pallets held together with long staples I stopped and checked the tyre as soon as i could leave the M/w but no not a mark, by the time i got to Mull it had started to show signs of a leak so put on the spare, on my return home i took it into my local tyre man only to find it had 5 holes!!! they said £110 for a new tyre so i put some green slime (linseal) worked a treat, a week later i noticed the rear r/h tyre low so took that for check over, this time 7 punctures and £110 for new one, so more slime went in, 6 months later and its all still going well Not sure about if i need to remove tyres but its worked well for me
  14. Extra Questions Interesting reading, can i ask what the gains will be, ie fuel, power, or just better running Also could i ask if there are any pictures as there is a lot of pipes, how much needs removing Has any one done a step by step guide to this little project, Sorry for jumping in on the original question Ziggy
  15. Hia Not sure if this will help but the heater matrix started to leak on the Freelander the other month so had a look at new ones!! how much!! and just how much of the car do you have to remove to get them out!! so put some rad flush in then some rad seal, not leaked at all, may fit a new one in the summer, maybe not but have found a good place to get new rads at half price now tho!
