Just stuck a 4.2 V8 in my 90. It will start but only on a key flick. If it goes on to crank it won;t start. So its key flick or nothing So it's like the crank is drawing too much power and stopping something working. Fuel pump seems the same, and I think I get spark on crank.
Any ideas ?
I had a problem like that on my transit , it turned out to be the crank shaft sensor was loose , and would move as the engine would turn over .

I was once tempted by a sub £100 2hp 30 litre. No good for air ratchet, air sander etc. Worth knowing that a description of 7cu ft per minute does not necessarily mean for a whole minute!
If you are near a Costco they had a good deal on 3 hp 100 litre at just over £200. (If my memory serves me!)
Yes i have a Costco near to me i think i saw them there a while back forgot all about them , will go have a look thursday .
Thanks Paul

Paul, also try Norton Industrial fasteners in Works Road in Letchworth, they have pretty much everything in stock plus other engineering consumables too, like drills, cutting/grinding discs, wire brushes etc.
