  1. It took me 5 mins. I didn't notice a difference but most posters would disagree.
  2. Like it! I've done a few similar bits. Two screens, 7" & 9" Swapped the dickie seats for two 10" subs 10 speakers 1 amp Reversing camera
  3. He's talking rubbish! Lift the bonnet and push the headlight forward until the "poppers" give. Disconnect the bulb holders. New headlight fitting is the reverse. On a good day it should take 60 seconds!
  4. As the title..... I'm replacing my hoses and want to swap to stainless pistons. I already have an unused stainless set in the garage but I don't want to pop the originals out to find they don't fit. I'm after external diameter and length if anybody knows. It's a 300 tdi with ABS as standard. Jap import.
  5. http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/ctj2glc-2-tonne-hd-high-lift-trolley-ja/path/trolley-jacks-bottle-jacks-transmission-jacks It will be fine with the height but what about the weight?
  6. Mine is a Jap import. When I bought it four years ago it had just 48k and no rust for £4k. Jap imports are the way to go but not at that price!
  7. http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg26/auf_wiedersehen_pet/856420bb.jpg http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg26/auf_wiedersehen_pet/ed98b8e0.jpg Have a look at these. It's difficult to photograph. One shows the slack in the pin pulled up and one shows it pushed down.
  8. Thanks for the replies. I've emailed Llama 4x4 twice and had no reply in ten days. There are plenty of other suppliers who do take their time to answer customers emails. I know who's not getting my money!
  9. Type M8 35 countersunk into eBay and you've got a supplier for 10 off at £3.49 Inc free post quicker than me typing this message on my phone. HTH
  10. One new A frame joint later and the clunking has gone. Happy days. Thank you all.
  11. I'm 6'5" and when my up and over garage door is open it's 6'. Every single time I work on my motor I bang my head at least three or four times. That's 100s of times over the years. Oh yeah, I also set my overall on fire when I was welding once.
  12. I tried the A frame joint today. I did it with a big pry bar and managed to punch myself in the face (twice) while lying under the truck I'm guessing 6mm of vertical movement through the joint is not good? I'd already bought an X-Eng joint and it's booked in on Wednesday. Fingers crossed.
  13. Going back to the original post - the 300tdi cluster was originally from a Montego estate. No wonder it doesn't fit.
  14. Cheers guys. I'll try the A frame and the exhaust this weekend.
  15. Cheers Anderzander. I've not checked the A frame joint - how would I do that? I'm confident that the bushes are all seated and tight.
  16. I've recently developed a clunk. It does it when travelling over bumps in the road and sounds very much like it's from the rear end. Sounds just like something's loose - I've checked and nothing is! For info. New rear springs and dampers. Polybushed all around. Any ideas?
  17. Before long I will have fitted the following...... Terrafirma +2" springs and Wizard +2" spring spacers, Terrafirma +2" spring turrets and Terrafirma +5" long travel shocks and an X-Eng unlockable anti roll bar which allows 16" of droop (this will probably only be 12" as I have already mentioned the 4"lift). The big question is....... How long will my new brake lines need to be? I've already identified a possible supplier. Any other suggestions for good suppliers?
  18. I've just had mine done at JE Engineering, complete with gas flowed intercooler. Fantastic pick up. Pulls like a train. Cruises up steep hills on the A34 at 70mph all day long. It's meant to add about 35-40BHP on top of the auto's 120BHP. The downside is £650 plus VAT.
  19. Don't forget that a 10% increase in rolling radius will mean that when the odometer reads 150 it's actually covered 165. Every little helps!
  20. With locking pins.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Black-SFC-AeroCatch-Bottom-Mounted-Locking125-2100-/260686649412?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cb2229844
  21. As FridgeFreezer said, Q plates are not optional, they are the result of chopping/originality/identity, etc. Q plates are not tax exempt. If the tax exempt date ever moves forward, you'll be paying and we'll be free.
