  1. Hi all, When closing the tailgate of my 05 freelander the lock/mechanism does not always engage and the door simply bounces. When working right you get an audible double click sound when you first 'pull' the handle. When it doesn't, it will bounce. Usually a good slam will get it to close properly but obviously I don't want to do this too much! I've spray some lubricant in and around the catch in case it was sticking but not much joy yet. Any ideas? Electrical? Mechanical? Thanks, Al.
  2. Awesome, thanks all!! Will give it a blast.....
  3. Hi all, my 05 freelander has a soaking wet toolbox well in the boot. Is it condensation? The boot carpet itself is dry, but the carpet in the well is really wet. I thought leak at first, but the rest of the boot is perfectly dry! Stumped! Any ideas? Thanks......
  4. That's great, thanks! much appreciated! bought a new battery and its working like a dream!! thanks again!
  5. as in Radio on when key out? definitely off, not mute etc. would the radio drain battery when off? thanks
  6. Freelander 1, 05 plate. Never had a problem starting it before but today it had died. It will not start without jump leads. I managed to start it first click with the leads attached and drive it up a dual carriageway etc to get some life back in it but after an hour I couldn't start it again. I had the battery tested and the guy said its reading ok but there is power being used even when the key is not in the ignition!!! no lights on etc. I'm guessing this is what has caused the battery to die but don't have a clue what is draining the power!! I changed the wiper motor a year ago and a head light bulb this morning whilst already dead other than that its not really been messed about with at all. any ideas?!!!!
  7. think mine was the switch as it seems to have stopped now......... until next time!!
  8. Hi, my 05 freelander td4 has the traction control warning lights coming on quite a lot at the moment. Sometimes on then straight off sometimes on and stays on. Any ideas? Thanks!!!!

  11. done it!!!!! new motor really easy to fit, £50 from Britpart. saved me a fortune instead of going to nearby Land rover specialist. No noise and full movement!!! yeeeee haw!! thanks again all. Bought myself a haynes manual....................
  12. Anyone have any recommendations for reconditioned fuel injectors? Anyone tried these as opposed to buying brand new? I've got an 05 freelander TD4. Thanks!
  13. Thanks again, ordered the part and now waiting for it to turn up. Had a look this weekend and was able to unscrew the scuttle panel rivots easily to my surprise!!! linkage seems good but motor still making the whirring noise when linkage detached so think I'm in the right place! Fingers crossed this will solve the problem...........
  14. Thanks! Ordered a new motor and am planning on having a play about this weekend. Thanks.......
  15. Thanks CJ1, is that a simple/cheap enough fix do you know?
