  1. I saw your post over at d-90.com, and I've got a NAS 110, but title documents or registrations in the US look nothing like the German "fahrzeugbrief" or British V5 documents. The European ones are much larger and more detailed. I'm not sure what document would be ideal for proving the legitimacy of the NAS 110 for the Austrian authorities. If you can wait a year or so, I'll be moving to Germany with my NAS 110.
  2. Thanks a lot Andrew! This is a late reply since I got deployed to Afghanistan since I posted! Anyhow, I did find the part number and tried to order it from LR - it is completely out of stock. So I am still looking for this bracket, if anyone can help, I'd be very grateful and would be willing to pay full price for it. Regards- jim
  3. Does anyone know what the air filter bracket on a 50 LE V8 defender looks like? I understand it mounts to the back of the engine instead of on a bulkhead bracket as on my NAS V8. I replaced my bulkhead and don't want the hassle of transferring the bracket over (many many spot welds) and would rather leave the bulkhead clean anyway. The diagram in Microcat isn't very helpful. Any pix would help, but if anyone had the bracket for sale I would be happy to take it off your hands...
  4. That's some sexy stuff you're showin' Badger. Looks really good.
  5. For the record, most bridges in the US are assembled out of component parts. Various parts are treated before they are assembled . Anyway, my local galvanizer actually has the largest tanks in the country, like 20x20x40 feet or some such ridiculous size.
  6. The honest-to-goodness hot ticket for metal preservation is galv followed up with a re-blast to prep the surface (not to strip the galv) and a zinc-rich epoxy primer on top of it (followed up with whatever paint you like - its just for color at that point). That is the spec used for bridges, marine applications, etc. The ZR epoxy is actually every bit as good as galv, but dipping in zinc gets inside places that the paint can't. Its up to you as to whether or not your application demands that degree of protection...
  7. I assume you are talking about the coolant heater and not the air heater. On my 90 (which is a NAS soft top converted to tdi) I mounted my Ebersparcher directly in front of the heater box (which is on the right side of my truck). There is just enough space between the heater and the coolant reservoir. I realize that there is a difference between RHD and LHD, but there is no space under the hood (bonnet) where it will fit? Even if you relocate something?
  8. Sorry, but the guesses are gonna cover some of the basic points - don't be insulted! Is the stub axles in good shape? Did you fit the inner bearing seal? Is the inner bearing race installed/intact? There should be no wobble even before you starting tightening the hub nuts.
  9. very cool - thanks! I scoured the forum for pix too, and found some, but nothing of that seatbelt area.
  10. Yeah, google is my friend no doubt, but after googling a whole bunch of different terms and not finding what I needed, I figured I would ask the locals here who are normally quite willing to help. And the rear AC is made by Elite, the same company that makes many of the normal ACs - and you can't fit the rear w/o the front since it piggybacks off of it.
  11. Hi- I'm restoring my NAS 110 and I want to upgrade to the 2007+ spec 2nd and 3rd row seats. I know they require a different tub etc, but my main concern is whether or not I can fit the rear seats along with my rear AC. Can someone provide pix of the rear corner window area where the seatbelt retractor is for the folding jump seat? The rear AC uses a thicker trim piece on one side to accomodate the ducting. I'm sure the rear trims will foul a bit, but I really would like to see what I'm up against... thanks in advance...
  12. Here are the part numbers for the harnesses designed to retrofit a 300tdi into a V8: PRC 4021D STC 9334D YSB 001280
  13. I think that 07 bulkhead is more than a wee bit different than the old ones. And since you're going to need lots of components from both sides of it, you may as well get the bit sandwitched in the middle. Also, its seems a bit hopeful that an 07 HVAC system could just be grafted onto a non-Puma engine. That being said, I'd love to know how difficult it is in reality, since all I'm doing is spitballing, and lots of guys over here in the USA would be interested in knowing what is involved. Here are a bunch of pix of the 07 bulkhead for your comparison.
  14. Deflex = evil incarnate This isn't a debate, its fact.
  15. This. Thread. Is. Worthless. Without. PIX!!!
