mine has the same, and did the same started on and off and has been solid, it was the abs sensors for me worth plugging a code reader in and seeing where the fault is, if it comes up on the lights just means your not searching around, can go straight to the part and sort it saves lots of time,

thats a fair shout, on the dual mass. two days after righting my comment my clutch went, ordered a single mass flywheel, clutch kit and slave cylinder. for £399, my local garage can fit it for £375, is this a good price to get it fitted? its the lowest one i have found, unfortunately going to be stuck at the farm for another week as can't fit it in till next Wednesday,

Hi guys, thanks for the replies, as you said garrycol, it could be done, but seems excessive my tc works brilliantly in pretty much everything, but it seems where it fails is steep hills covered in compacted snow. Looking in to a lower first gear talk to a gearbox restorer, to see if he can help. Looking into the options this seems the cheapest way to go with out having to overly modify. I thought of a auto, my mother has the 3 door td4 auto, I have driven it a few times but prefer the manual as don't feel as in control. I'll keep you all posted on the lower first gear, it will probs mean starting will be different to traffic light races with boy racers. but worth it with the amount of off roading i do. many thanks theoptimist

hi guys thanks for the help got the nato hitch mounted, then lost the bid by 23 quid, gutted still on the hunt, but thank you for the tips, swivel nato hitch mounted so, should be all good when one comes up. used a 15mm steel plate bolted to the hitch with two bolt holes at the bottom to connect to the standard 2 bolt hitch, but made so when mantec have made my receiver hitch can be adapted for a 2 inch receiver hitch. Hi guys have brought this up before, but after my recent trip up a friends wood that's situated on a steep hill. I have lifted the freebie 2 inch with mud tyres, but found as trying to get up a steep hill where there was compacted snow, my tyres just wanted to spin, however my friends with low gear boxes, would crawl up fine on the same tyres. It feels like the gearing just wants to spin the wheel rather than slowly crawl, one option that may be possible, which we have discussed before was to remove the first gear and replace with a lower gear, However i like the idea of fitting a transfer box from a vitara or something don't know how possible this is. as anyone done or attempted something similar, i admit not all helped by me by putting 225 75 16 on instead of 215 65 16, however this was to get over another problem, which was ride height she's roughly 3 and half to 4 inches higher now. but at a cost of upping the gearing, however in the fresh snow there wasn't a problem, and with sticky muck, there is no problem so far. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas on how to solve the gearing problem they would be much appreciated, Many thanks theoptimist

backing plate is 4 inch by 4 inch

nato hitch arrive and the back plate is huge, think its the bedford truck size, will this still fit a narrow track sankey?

thought about that but this one doesn't it has a spare wheel mount, i bought one cheap, just making a plate to mount to standard 2 bolt to hitch, as said only to get it back then will be switching it to ball hitch. Have to win the bidding first looking good though, it will be the basis for an expedition trailer however before i do it up will be used for pulling logs out the woods. many thanks the optimist

thanks for the replies guys, gona make a drop plate type thing, that i can unpin the plate and pop on the nato or the ball hitch don't want to spend to much till the receiver hitch arrives, then i can by the nato hitch insert for the receiver hitch. many thanks sebastien

Ah that the towball i have but an orange one ordered a nato hitch last night going to make a plate on my towbar, which will allow me to switch between the two, only cost me 20 quid for the nato so not too bad, many thanks the optimist

bol**ks how thick is the the ring hitch?, i might be able to bodge something to take it as receiver hitch wont be here for a month, and if i win will be picking up sunday. or before, i only have to 20 miles, so a bodge will do if i keep my speed down many thanks the optimist

Hi guys, currently bidding on a sankey narrow track, and from the freelander forum, but i have a ball and pin hitch, which fits standard agricultural hitches in, with ease, can any one tell me if a snakey narrow tract hitch is similar only want to tow it twenty miles to home so it can go in the workshop for some work. but don't want to jump into buying a nato hitch until i get a reciever hitch. So main question is will the snakey narrow track fit in my ball and pin hitch? many thanks theoptimist

Hi guys if i tried using the T piece and the male to male pipe connector could this damage the engine if it didn't work or would the ecu flag up a problem, or could it not see a problem and damage the engine, many thanks Theoptimist

hi guys going to try to get a photo of the splitter up here but I was thinking, The feed pipe must be going straight through and the return would be where the auxiliary would be coming from or vice versa, if this is the case surely i could put a pipe connector connecting the feed straight through and a t piece to feed the auxiliary, this piece would have a valve in it would it? Does any one know how this flimsy bit of plastic works, as dealers wont tell me anything. Many thanks Theoptimist
