  1. The release bearing was fubarred... Dropped the box, long process but doable and then had to weld the chassis that was holed behind the crossmember plates ! New clutch in, handbrake adhusted, ready for a few more miles now !
  2. Hi folks, 1996 'P' Discovery 300tdi Clutch pedal is on the floor, have to switch engine off to engage gear. Had a look around, the master cylinder fluid is still topped up, cant see any leakage. Slave cylinder also appears leak free, pipes and unions dont appear to leak either. Is my problem sounding more like the rod through the clutch fork ? Thanks
  3. lol, cheers boydie... Wont help if I mention my mums in Canberra just now ! Time spent waiting is being used to read up on doing it, etc
  4. Cheers.... "Got a machine gun noise coming from the offside manifold" - might be brake vacuum pump, I'm replacing mine for a similar noise, hope it cures it!
  5. Keep the pics coming please.... I'll have to do this soon enough !

  7. Ahh, more expense...better doing it once though rather than seals and then have to replace again. Sorry for late reply, not posted enough yet so wondered when this would be approved! I'll let you know how I get on, may have to wait until end of month.... Many thanks
  8. Hi, 1996 Discovery 300Tdi 126,000 miles First land rover of any kind, and would appreciate some advice please. Swivel joint things need attention, ones wet and leaked grease, the others very dry and has some rust forming. Pics: From your experience will I just get away with a seal kit? Is there any other jobs that would be better getting done when these are apart ? thanks
