  1. Please excuse my ignorance, I just typed in google into my browser and then searched from there , am I supposed to download chrome and then use that to search and translate?
  2. No , sadly it didn’t/ hasn’t . I tried to email them but that doesn’t seem to want to play ball either. I used the google translator and also tried bing as well but all to no avail, I’m unsure if it’s the website, the fact I’m using a translation thing or me , although I’ve tried an iPad and the grownups pc in the house , all with the same frustrating results .Im going to try to give them a call and hope that whoever answers the other end speaks English 🥴
  3. I’m after buying this kit , how the merry hell did you blokes manage to buy one ? I’ve worked out the cost and postage but try as I might I can’t get passed the add to winklewaggon , I take it that means basket , my Dutch is non existent, I clicked on Western’s link to get to the website, is there a different way in , any help greatly appreciated.
  4. I did mean to add , my 90 is a disco 200 Tdi conversion and I fitted a cheaper one from bolt on bits with a switch in the top hose ,although in the past 11 + years I’ve never had it come on I did check it now and again at service time and it still spins up a treat .
  5. https://revotec.com/acatalog/Land-Rover-Tailormade-Cooling-Kits.html have you tried these people, a bit on the expensive side but they do sell kits for the 200Tdi , hope this is of some use
  6. My thought process went along the lines of , 35 years ago I did a couple of screens in a mini and a cortina I think and they weren’t difficult I hadn’t factored in age , memory being coloured a rosey tint and arthritis . 🤨
  7. Just what I thought but the fitters that eventually did mine said it was more of a pain in the ar** out of the vehicle
  8. I’ve just dropped the bottle on fitting a heated screen and went to a fitting place near Chertsey, I was told it was at my own risk & needless to say the inevitable happened and it split top to bottom it wasn’t the fitters fault as I was stood by him as it went , I had the firm supply and fit a Pilkington one as the one I had bought online was a cheaper version they did the job for £20 cheaper than I bought the one on line . I didn’t have it fitted in the Landy but in another frame so they were doing the job on a trestle, no marks to the edge of the screen or damage , I suppose it’s a case of sh*t really does happen it just really hurts paying double the price 😢
  9. I was going to be a smart arse and put a link in the reply but it turns out I’m not that smart so have a look on the slick shift web page there’s a vid on the showing how to adjust the spring albeit a new turret, hope this is of some help.
  10. Have you tried adjusting the spring bias and maybe have a look at the plastic bush at the bottom before you go splashing out , on the other hand if it is you need a replacement try a breaker or the very popular bidding site for a good second hand one
  11. Grill and lights look old Toyota Land Cruiser’ish
  12. The only pressing of benches I do now is getting up off the one in the park with the grandkids . On a serious note that same point was made earlier and I hadn’t considered it but I’m seriously considering it now .
  13. Cheers Mav that’s put me off , not quite as big as fridges it would seem but still a lump 👍
  14. Thank you one and all , must say the comments have made me rethink the whole idea , I hadn’t given any thought to getting the bugger off the bonnet should the need arise especially looking at fridges post . Eightpots post is a good idea , are those plug affairs strictly legal for the road although I do like the idea of a space saver type spare , less weight to wrestle in the event of a flat. After reading and digesting the posts a rebuild of the hinges and fettle of the lock/latch seems the more straight forward and sensible solution . Thanks once again all .
  15. Thank you all for your replies, to address the weight issue I was going to use gas rams to aid the lifting of the bonnet but retain the original prop .I was going to sit it on the bonnet as you suggested reb but it was the normal driving about I am unsure about .Gazza , I am looking at swing away carriers and have been looking at other people’s views on old threads and as you say Arian just a door mounted carrier as I’ve already got , it’s been doing an admirable job for the last 15 years . Thanks all .
  16. Hello all , I’m after wisdom from the hive mind that is Lr4x4 , genuinely. I’ve had enough of the rattling, squeaking and general rhythmic drumming from the rear door mounted spare wheel of my 90, I know it’s a Land Rover etc etc .A couple of options , put up with it ,mount on the inside or mount on the bonnet I’m sure I read somewhere on here that mounting a 265/75/16 on the bonnet is a bad idea . Im after advice on the pitfalls of either mounting .
  17. im looking at the same sort of thing at the moment but have settled on this ........i think .https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-cdp152b-bench-drill-press-230v/ to be fair i cant make my soddin mind up and at this sort of price a lot look like the same machine with different colour schemes .
  18. That grey looks nice against the galvanised cappings
  19. Rust oleum is good stuff the satin black gives a nice finish , not trying to tell granny how to blow eggs , quick blast back to solid and away you go
  20. I got hold of my mate in Aus and asked him about purchase and shipping etc , he pretty much said the same as you fellas , I asked about getting it over here via his mates in the forces , after much Aussie squaddie bad language he said his side wasn’t much of a problem but tying up with his mates in our forces wasn’t a starter especially with what’s going on all around the world at the moment. I bit the bullet and ordered a 6000 rpm version from Demon Tweaks £125 delivered so not too bad , thanks all once again. To cackshifter , I’m sorry if I high jacked your post .
  21. Funny you should say that , after reading the reply’s from Mo & Red I duly set about trolling the net for a 4000 version , found loads abroad , mostly in Aus but didn’t have much luck here in GB I tried boat yards and the like but couldn’t find one , but my goddaughter married an Aussie in the mob so when I’m able to get hold of him I’ll see if he can buy one and ship , I’m not too up on importing and the like so I’m hoping he is and will be able to help. With regards to Mo & Reds previous comments on revving the bejesus out of a 200TDi , just because it states 6000 it doesn’t mean you have to take it there . Thanks all for your reply’s .
  22. Appreciate what Mo & Red are saying , im assuming the 4000 units are as easy to set up as the 6000 ones ?
