  1. Many thanks Western , from reading the previous posts It seems the VDO gauges are very popular , ive seen the Merlin motorsport website and it would seem to be an average price . Thanks once again.
  2. Same as mmgemini really , the enthusiasm is there but the joints are screaming in protest at replacing shocks , springs and the like , cant wait to get on with some wiring and servicing . The only silver lining is the time factor at least im not trying to squeeze everything into a couple of weekends to keep my 90 on the road , very very strange times at the moment I think you would all agree , so hope all are keeping well and staying as safe as can be .
  3. Maybe this is what Gezza is aiming for https://www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/news/road-rover-coming-by-the-end-of-2021-with-electric-powertrain/ar-BB11DvnB?ocid=spartandhp

  5. Hi Nick , ive just had four BFG 265/75/16 AT2 fitted ( many thanks to the members who have posted reviews ) with the writing on the inside I hasten to add . My spare was an embarrassment so I bit the bullet and bought a 7x16 modular , load rating 1050kg , from Craddocks and had the best of the original tyres ( 265/75/16 Traction track Insa Turbo ) fitted as a spare . Hope this is of some help .
  6. Fridge , you must have one hell of a kitchen to be able to get your Land Rover in there
  7. Sometimes having a mate round just to talk boll**ks and give a hand with mundane jobs or a different view on what seems to be a real pain in the parts at the time
  8. At least its a bit more challenging than those puddles they were splashing about in
  9. All the very best to one and all
  10. I thought at one time the military used them .
  11. The thot plickens...…….. Ineos Automotive has named major automotive engineering firm Magna Steyr as its engineering partner for the development of its forthcoming Grenadier 4x4. The British firm, owned by chemical magnate Jim Ratcliffe, is developing the machine as a no-compromise off-roader in the mould of the original Land Rover Defender. The Grenadier is due to go into production in 2021, at a new facility in Bridgend, Wales. Advertisement Ineos has already involved a number of partners in the £600 million project, and already works with Magna’s powertrain division on chassis and development work. It has now agreed a deal with Austrian-based Magna Steyr to lead the development project to turn the concept into a series production machine. Ineos Automotive boss Dirk Heilmann said that the “transition from concept to series development is a major landmark in the evolution of the Grenadier.” He added that Magna Steyr had been chosen due to its “long heritage and experience in 4x4 development.” The Grenadier will be powered by BMW’s latest 3.0-litre straight six petrol and diesel engines. The firm is also working with Stuttgart-based consultancy MBTech on engineering for the new car. Magna Steyr is the automobile production arm of Canadian engineering giant Magna International, and has developed cars, technology and parts for manufacturers including BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar. It also operated a number of contract manufacturing plants, producing models including the Jaguar E-Pace and I-Pace and Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Magna Steyr was formed in 2001 from the Steyr-Daimler-Puch manufacturing concern, which had a long history of developing rugged off-road and military 4x4 vehicles, including the Steyr-Daimler-Puch Pinzgauer.

  14. Paime , please post your views after getting your ATs dirty , ive been following this thread with interest as im currently on an ageing set of 265/75/16 Traction Tracks , I only do shortish trips so the noise doesn't really bother me or the handling on the road , as for laning again no dramas .
  15. TRW here as well , no dramas after 2 years
  16. Will Sir Jim / Ineos have grief from Land Rover if the Grenadier is a copy of the old Defender ?
  17. By all accounts JLR sold four new offenders every minute after the unveiling, seems the metrosexuals are awash with cash . The bit that tickled me was ... the iconic 4x4 was scrapped in 2016 after 68 years but has been resurrected tough , trendy , hi-tech and as a hybrid
  18. Im getting seriously confused about the whole beard no beard thing and which side of the line you fall for having or not having a beard , now after watching the ad , they've chucked a woman into the mix and im now im worried about offending or not offending younger owners than myself and should I call her a woman , lady or cross axle gender , bender defender .
  19. With ref to Mavericks picture , I’m not sure I’m that good a driver to balance a keyboard on my lap while zooting around and more importantly is it legal what with the current hands free laws , surely it would be more effective to attach it to the dash
