  1. same happened to me after biling, problem was that i was on a ferry at the time! (glad it didn't happened before the ferry) had to get the AA to take me home on back of a recovery truck, then when home i squirted some wd40 in the lock and after a few minutes it worked again, failed once more a few weeks later, wd40 cured again (now carry small tin everywhere) and hasn't happened again and that was about 9 months ago
  2. the battery in my 300 has been struggling with the cold weather, and its only 6 months old ! if i didn't take the disco for a run every 3 days it wouldn't have enough juice to start it, but today tried it in the "warm" weather (9deg) and it had plenty of life despite not having had its run for 6 days now, seems it was just the cold then i've heard if you put the clutch in when starting there's a bit less metal for the starter motor to turn, is this true?
  3. 9/16 open ended spanner, propshaft nut spinner(a MUST have tool) and rachet handle
  4. i think its about £20 for each new hinge, i got a good pair of 2nd hand ones for mine for only a fiver
  5. get the measuring tape out and check the car park, there's bound to be a bit of leeway but it would be a good excuse for front and rear winches !
  6. maybe try smaller tyres, or a few sandbags in the back or even, and i can't believe i'm suggesting this, lowering springs!!!!
  7. is the mot failing issue only due to he seatbelt mounts? if so can i bolt my mounts somewhere else (no not the axle ) i can live with my sandwiches falling out the large holes starting to appear in the floor
  8. i managed to get to both shows and enjoyed both, autojumble better at billing and that suited me well, newark suited the family better, my kid preferred it, newark definitely the better ground for a show although i do like the disorganised feel to billing (i.e. i kept getting lost ) oh, and the newark show guide was much better than the billing one, i spoke to a lot of staff/security at both shows (as i said, i kept geting lost!) and all were very friendly & helpful
  9. i notice my regulator has (well had until yetsderday ) rivets in place of the spot welds, is this some sort of bodged repair or do some come with rivets from new?
