  1. Thats the one! Thanks for the speedy response
  2. Hi guys, dislocated one of my 110 rear springs whilst laning yesterday. Heard the "twang" but carried on a bit to a suitable re-seating place. Unfortunately, I have lost the ring which helps to seat the springs in place. Its a ring with four lugs on it like castleations. I have a smaller spring sat inside a larger spring, I cant find any pictures on tinternet and wondered if anyone, (Ralph!), could help me identify it? Thanks
  3. Dislocated rear spring on a laning weekend. Defender 110 td5 year 2000. Springs are the ones with a smaller coil inside the larger one. Problem is I appear to have lost the ring which keeps the inner concentric with the outer. Small spring now pops out the top of the big one. Any pointers would be good.
  4. Hi all, going on a weekend laning trip to Strata and Brechfa in mid March. Can anyone point me to a wild campsite, (would be nice to have a campfire), or a normal cheap campsite near Llandovery please?
  5. What a good day. A few showers but well worth it. Will be on the calendar for next year.
  6. Noooooo! Don't say that! I hope not. Symptoms?
  7. Hi all, I have gone back to a 110, a td5 2001, couldn't resist, always wanted a ragtop. Anyway, I've had her 3 weeks now so we are quite aquainted, going from the best disco Ive had to a ragtop defender has taken a bit of aclimitisation!!! how soon we forget. Anyway, I have a squeal under acceleration so I replaced the serpentine belt. Made no difference. I have done a forum search and exhaust gasket seems to be popping up often but that would squeal all the time wouldn't it? I am thinking I need to replace the tensioner (180K miles), but just looking for agreement. Always start with the cheapest options right? Remember I have done the belt (QH not Britpart)
  8. Hi Ed, looking for a couple of 2 seater benches
  9. Can anybody help with getting a swing away wheel carrier from Northampton to Bristol? Just managed to get one from good old e-blag.
  10. Gutted, someone beat me to it!!! pair of benches and belts and fixing bars for £45. Gutted, must of clicked virtually at the same time. Thankyou very much for the offer though Ben.
  11. Ben, if go on and buy them are you happy to look after them until you come to Bristol?
  12. I'm in no rush, I'll just check with the seller...........
  13. Hi all, a bit cheecky but is anyone near or in Aylesbury who could collect and post 2 Defender bench seats and belts etc. to me in Bristol? Would love to buy a pair but they insist on collection. I would obviously pay all costs. Cheers!
  14. I had this on my Disco 300. I thought it was the tensioner bearing, took it out, cleaned and re-packed it. Still squealed, thought it was waterpump, nope. Get a new tensioner assembly, as they wear, the angle alters. I got one from Paddocks, cheap and was definately the problem.
  15. keep looking, the boot floor will be your next find, then check front inner wings<_<
  16. are you assuming it will rust then?
  17. dont risk "arc eye" it just aint worth it! if you really cant find space for a full mask, at least get this for peanuts! Just be carefull of the radiation, severe sunburn
  18. Welcome to the forum. Too many part numbers for me I'm affraid but sure a grown up will be along real soon:lol:
  19. You may find it cracks off like a carrot if you weld it Ralph. You could try a solid carbide drill bit, that should do it.
  20. Can anyone tell me if the drivers external door handle, (flappy type thing), is the same as apassenger side one? IE, can I get a passenger one and install it upside down? this is the plan Alternatively, does anyone have one begging or know the part number please?
  21. consider the bristol view covered from my side of town anyway.
  22. I know you dont fancy doing the box section option but in my opinion it is the easiest and cheapest option You will need 1400mm of 120x60 box 3mm thick, its that simple, I promise they will fit a treat, heres how I know!
  23. If the diff flanges are different, conversion flanges are available on the bay of ee's or elsewhere. Do a forum search.
