  1. The P38 Diff centre does fit in a standard housing but it needs to go into one from a 300tdi as others foul and need grinding out.
  2. Ive just watched your video on the long nose vs short nose diff and it os very interesting however i saw that you had said you couldnt put a short nose 4 pin centre in a long nose casing, however i have built and run 4 long nose cases in 2 different motors with p38 4 pin centres. I used the 300tdi cases and the p38 centres just slot in and bolt up. Just thaught id point that out.
  3. Just bought a 200tdi Discovery however the body is shot. I was wondering if it would be possible to either: A: Remove the body and replace with a defender cab, chop off the overhang and to have tube front and rear wings, whilst still keeping it road legal on the original reg? or B: Remove the body and overhang and replace with a fully tubed body and wings, whilst still keeping it road legal on the original reg? I don't want to start the project to find I'll have to get it tested and checked or that i have to replace the body like for like. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. Yes the motor has power steering. I am using a 13 inch steering wheel as im 6 ft 9 and cant fit in the motor and drive comfortably with anything bigger. I compete in trials and want to be able to turn the wheel quicker to get full lock faster. Is there any way of re-valving the power steering pump or steering box? Or are there any mods to give better steering lock?
  5. Is there any cheap and easy way to make my defender's steering lighter? Any help would be appreciated
  6. We dont use the motor on the road just trailer it to events. The tyres are 235/85/16 Grizzly Claws on standard disco rims. Going to an event this weekend so i'l try winding the the steering lock stops in and see how it goes. Cheers Pete
  7. Hi, I'm new to the forums but have been looking round for a while. I have a Discovery that i use for off road trials, however the turning circle is shocking. I turned the wheels and tyres to see if i could get better lock but now the tyres catch on the inner wings when i go on the smallest side slope, and i'm not even at full lock. If anyone has any suggestions on how i can get a better turning circle it would be much appriciated. Cheers Pete
