  1. is the tax on a 110 utility the same as the station wagen, or the same as a 110 hard top ie cheaper? cheers
  2. how easy is it to remove the extra 2 seats in the back of a 90/110? is it a quick job? they seem to take up a hell of a lot of room even when up cheers mark
  3. i have just had the high ratio box fitted, not only quieter (than my 175k box) but also smoother, the new gearing takes a little bit to get used to spending longer in 4th than before, but once into 5th she realy flies, felling much more relaxed. when towing a heavy trailer i would keep in 4th alot, for hills but still has loads of power there. if you spend only 10% towing i would recomend , also had new gearbox at same time as the old one gave in, so i may just feel impressed with the whole new setup.
  4. does any one know the mph in 5th revs per minute for both standard and high ration transfer boxes, and does it make a big difference at motorway speeds ie noise and mpg cheers mark
  5. what do you do with these when you remove egr valve. ?
  6. i have read loads about blanking off the egr and also removing the valve itself and replacing with a new pipe, but on the 2002 engine it also has a butterfly valve and coolent pipes. what do you do with these? cheers mark
  7. only quite gear is 4th, dont think there is much life left, changed oil that made it quieter for a week or two, can get a local garage to change for about £250 (labour) is this good value?
  8. i noticed that my basic 2002 td5 has loads of blanked off wiring, behind the dash and near ecu, my question is can i use these wires to install electric windows or central locking ( i realise i will need motors and actuators) but is most of the basic wiring already there? cheers mark
  9. i have a 2002 td5 with 170k on the clock, had new head @ 150k, how long do these engines last? and what are the common problems, gear box is noisy any idea of how easy a change, would be diy?
  10. thanks guys, now sorted, it seems the switch was stuck, a few fiddles with the transfer box and the light went away, seems to have worked, cleaned the terminals too, thanks, great forum full of great advice, any one tried a 2007 with a tune & derestrict yet?
  11. got a td5 defender, used diff lock the other day, light came on, disengaged lock and now the light keeps fading in and out, have tried reversing and moving up and down the box, it seems that the lock is disengaged but the light stays on. any thoughts? cheers
