  1. 01480 877111 or sam@farcorners.co.uk They are also on facebook. Hope this helps, Dave.
  2. OK thanks. Wish I called by Newbury now....
  3. Hi. Does anyone know who the guy was who was selling these light guards at Peterborough 4x4 show? He had a long trailer which was loaded up neatly with winch bumpers He had made. He had one of these (or similar) light guards mounted on a front of a landrover stand on display. Price was around £35-£40 if I remember correctly. I believe He was from Yorkshire area. Unfortunatly I have lost his phone number. I think He was next to LandyLubber. Failing that other than 4x4overlander does anyone else sell these. (Hopefully not at £245). Thanks Dave. This One...
  4. I had very simular on an LDV van, travelling on a motorway suddenly the rear door glass shattered. No one around, no reason for it. I could only assume a stone or something flicked up by the wheel deflected off something and back into the rear door glass?
  5. Hi. Does anyone know the part numbers for the diesel fuel pipes that go to the 300TDi defender diesel filter. That is both in and out pipes. One of mine is dripping diesel but I cannot tell which one so would like to replace them both. Part no's great, part no's & pictures would be fantastic. Thanks Dave.
  6. Hi. I have a defender 1995 on a 300TDi engine. 150,000 miles. In 18 months it has never missed a beat however now I am getting running problems. Basically it starts fine & will drive as normal, then suddenly it starts to want to stall & generally run badly, whopping out grey spoke at the same time - top speed of 20MPH. Then it will either stall completely or pass through this episode and carry on as normal. If it stalls it restarts fine. It has happened quite a few times now and progressively got worse to the point it was un drivable. I think it is slowly getting better (or less frequent) but now I am just down on power (top speed 60MPH) until it has an episode again. I have changed the leak off pipes as one of these was slightly leaking and now there appears to be no leaks either in or out. The other thing is the pump priming handle does not appear to do a lot, i.e. I can't feel it pumping? Any ideas? Thanks Dave.
  7. Hi. I have today received my 300TDi fuel sender ROW spec (2 outlets - 1 out, 1 in with part no of WQB100430). Does anyone know what plug fits the top of this pump, it has 4 pins but only 2 are used? A part no and who sells the plugs would be fantastic. Cheers Dave.
  8. Hi. I'm just trying to allow myself to carry extra diesel on a expedition prepared 90. In a way I would rather leave the 300TdI set up alone hence pumping from one tank into the other. Dave.
  9. Hi. I am fitting a TD5 auxillary fuel tank into my 300TDi Defender 90 and following on from recomendations I require the ROW fuel pick up and any other parts for this to fit the tank etc. I will use the TD5 tank to fill the 300TDi tank. So what parts do I need, where to buy and part numbers if possible? Also how would I connect the auxillary fuel tank gauge (ROW set up) into my existing 300TDi fuel gauge set up. Ideally so with the flick of a switch to activate the fuel pump from the auxillary tank the dashboard fuel gauge also reads what is in the auxillary tank. Any help really appreciated. Thanks Dave.
  10. Hi. Many thanks for the reply's however I apoligise for not being clear. The TD5 tank & pump will be used to supply the 300TDi tank with diesel. so the TD5 tank will only be an auxillary fuel tank and will not feed the engine at all (other than through the standard 300TDi setup). I am unsure as to should I go for using the TD5 pump or opt for a ROW set up. I have the TD5 pump but could pass that on. Where can I get hold of the ROW set up and what would I need. Part no's would be fantastic. Thanks Dave.
  11. Hi. I am fitting a TD5 tank into my 300TDi Defender 90. Should the TD5 pump cut out when the fuel level drops below a certain point in the tank to protect the pump itself? If so does it take it's reading from the fuel level part of the pump or is it based on the fact it has no diesel to pump. Reason is I have bought a second hand pump and have very quickly tested it out of diesel - a 2 second power up but it ran. Also how would I wire the TD5 gauge into my 300TDi gauge so with a flick of a switch I can switch readings from either tank? Thanks Dave.
  12. Hi. I don't know if anyone can supply them seperatly other than Ebay or somewhere but I need a set as well for my TD5 conversion. If you find out let me know. It is possible if worse comes to worse I can have a set fabricated. Back to the TD5 tank brackets the one's I can get hold of have the towbar mount ready welded in by means of a threaded insert so new arms should just bolt up. Dave.
  13. I used an auxillary fuse box which has 12 fuses in a bus bar style, so 6 fuses switched, 6 fuses perm live or whatever configaration you require. It also gives multiple earth points. Try "Polevolt" electrics as there stuff is high quality & worked well for me. I know the feeling about costs, it very quickly add's up but the bee's nest of wiring is not good, and neither is a dash fire so it is worth doing things correctly. Dave.
  14. Hi. I use a friend of mine who's company actually makes the identical brackets for Richards Chassis. They also make other parts for the big 4x4 companies so I'm sworn to secrecy over there name as they don't want to be seen to sell parts cheaper than the people they supply. However if they have the brackets on the shelf I can provide them for £50 delivered to your door unpainted. I have pictures available and believe me they are well worth the price. I can take pay-pal and get them to you within 2-3 days usually (I think they only make 100+ orders of them but they keep some on the shelf). I have been tempted to list some on ebay before. Anyway if you are interested pm me.
  15. Hi. I have started to fit a TD5 tank into my defender 300TDi. I'm faily confident it can all work out however looking on here it appears many people have gone this route. I have purchased the TD5 90 tank and fuel pump, I have the cradle & have purchased some tank holder brackets. I see I don't need a tank strap? So.... Breather pipes - You keep the looped breather but probably extend for wading. Where should the other breather go, to the filler neck? TD5 pump wiring - Which wires should I use as I'm not going to have a gauge (unless it is easy to use the 300TDi dash gauge for both tanks with a switchover switch?) If so a guide to wiring would be great? TD5 pump - How do I fit the TD5 pump fuel lines to fill up my 300TDi tank - which lines go where and how do the connect? (I have lines that have been cut off coming from the tank but can also obtain a full TD5 90 set of lines if I need them? Finally - Filler neck - I would like to use the 300TDi filler cap as a filling point for both tanks, does anyone make a a Y peice or something like it that is easily obtainable and at a relitive cost. I have seen 2 filler necks welded into one but this is above me. I can have someone make it at cost if needbe. If so should I use a 300TDi main filler neck & aTD5 one leading to the TD5 tank? Any pointers in the right direction would be great and measurments, sizes, idea's, pipe sizes etc very welcome. I need to keep my defender on the road almost everyday for work so reliability is no 1, cost is no 2 & ease of fitment no 3. Thanks Dave.
