  1. Hi, Can anyone who has access to a landrover parts disc please look up a couple of part numbers for a 200tdi I need the gaskets for the fuel pump to block and oil filter housing to block. Huge thanks in advance Robert
  2. Cheers for the replies, I called Craddocks and they told me it will be the 591231, have ordered the 591231G which should be the OE one and a master cylinder as well Already had the old cyl off at the weekend, found it was not too bad once I removed the exhaust down pipe first Have used those pressure bleeders before, very useful especially if you have no one to pump the pedal for you ... of course I've not used it in years so will have to turn the shed upside down to find it probably
  3. Here are a couple from my 200tdi converted 90
  4. Hi, I finaly managed to finish the engine swap at the weekend and all seems good so far apart from the clutch slave cylinder seems to have failed! I have been looking online and there seems to be 2 different ones and depending on which site depends on which one I need! https://www.connectstores.com/lr/sp_2491.html seems to suggest FTC5072 for all TDi but I assume my 90 has the original LT77 gearbox with the 200TDi fitted afterwards so would I need 591231 http://www.paddockspares.com/sp/category/D...utch_Parts.html suggests the 5072 is 300TDi only but http://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/product_s...=3&page=new suggests the 591231 is series 3 I am confused so if anyone can shed light I'd be very greatful! Robert
  5. Hi, I have all the engine to gearbox bolts out except the one by the clutch slave cylinder / start motor Any tips on how to get it out?? I can just get a finger to it but no way get a spanner on it. Do I have to remove the engine mounts and lower the engine to get better access? cheers Robert
  6. The powder coating does look good, though there were a couple of scratches in it but luckily on the underside of the rails. He wasn't selling the non coated ones before. If I knew I think I'd save £50 on the sliders and spend a tenner on some black hammerite!
  7. try this http://tinyurl.com/2mlbrn i have some powder coated ones from them for 150, those ones are not painted. they are pretty good
  8. yes please. i just need part 4. i am ib bracknell, berks
  9. I've ordered all the bits apart from no.4 on that diagram, the lower pipe MWC1827 from David Vincent for £14 If anyone has the lower part that'd be really helpful as Land Rover don't seem to do that bit anymore! I guess the flexi pipe may be able to be attached to the main part (no.3) anyway so may be ok
  10. Ohh, if you have that'd be fab. If you have let me know how much you want for them cheers Robert
  11. cool, thanks for that I have the vent just not the bit behind, I'll have to find someone breaking one!
  12. I've got the hose but it just kinda sits there, it doesn't join to anything on the wing, is there a piced of plastic that it clamps to on the wing?
  13. I've got an '86 90 with a 200 Tdi fitted in. The air intake pipe into the airbox just sits in the engine bay. Should it mount up to the inside of the n/s wing? I have bought a snorkel which bolts to the outside of the n/s wing but I assume there should be something in the engine bay already for it to bolt to cheers Robert
  14. cheers, replacement sourced and should be delivered to me Friday .... I wonder what I am doing this weekend! Do I actually need to swap the timing case? Is it just the outer case or are the internals different? cheers Robert
  15. If I had the time and space I would rebuild but I want to get it back on the road asap a) so I can use it and B) because the weather sucks and my main car is a westfield now! I may rebuild the old engine over time as a future replacement That sucks Don't know about cost but Safari Engineering may be able to help. I've not used them but I know they are local in Eversley. At least there is not flow on that ford, those vids look nasty!
  16. Found that thread. As mine already has the 200tdi and I have the manifolds presumably the cylinder head ports are the same on the disco 200 tdi and I can just use my manifolds and a disco 200 tdi? Though I'll prob drop the sump first and pull the crank and pistons out and if I can get away with just replacing the rods it will be easier and cheaper! cheers Robert
  17. ps. My turbo and intake are round the opposite way to all the 200tdi engines I've seen on ebay, would that be because my 90 is an '86 and was retro fitted with the 200tdi. pps. I assume the disco 200tdi is exactly the same as a defender 200 tdi? cheers Robert
  18. The head is now off (beat the rain with an Argos £10 Gazebo!) and the engine is full of water. It will not turn at all so must be a bent rod / crank Do second hand rods and cranks come up? I guess it's that or just replace the whole engine, whats the going rate? There are a couple on ebay for IRO £500 I hope it's sunny next week as my main car is now a westfield!!! cheers Robert
  19. Ford Near Aborfeld. Has risen about a foot in the last couple of weeks!
  20. Hi, In my 90 200Tdi I went through a ford today, that I went through with no problem a couple of weeks ago, that was considerably deeper than previously! The water was just coming over the bonnet in the middle but as I was starting to come out the engine lost power and died. I think my third mistake was trying to restart it in the middle (the first being not to fit a snorkel and the second being to not realise the water was much higher!!) I tried a couple of times to restart. I then had a friend drive the long way round to get to the oher side of the ford (strangley he did not fancy trying to drive through!) and pulled me out. Now the engine will not turn at all ( He towed me home and I have taken 3 glow plugs out, the forth will not come out as the head has snapped off and the engine will not turn using a breaker bar on the crank bolt. I took the lower pipe off the intercooler and it is full of water ( My main question is what is the next move. Can I drain the cylinders from the glow plugs (assuming I can get the last one out) or is the head going to have to come off?? I was surprised the engine would still not turn even with 3 removed. To add insult to injury my friend was in a Pajero and did have a chuckle that he had to tow my landy home! cheers Robert
  21. Hi, Quite a few years ago I had a series IIa canvas topped landy and I am looking to buy a Defender 90 which will be my main vehicle as well as an off road toy. I'm looking at approx a 10-15 year old 90. I wanted to know if the hardtops can be easily unbolted and removed? Are only ex MOD 90's of that age canvas topped? Do all 90's have discs all round? Also, did any 90's come with diff locks? cheers Robert
