  1. im not sure about any of the thread sizes but i bought this http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/Pro...pcode=LMATIM034 and it came with lots of adaptors to fit and good price to
  2. i think you could do a 200tdi conversion for less than £2500 more like under a £1000 in my opinion if you do it all yourself
  3. ive got i the same problem my gearbox is noisy in every gear but fourth so i think its the layshaft bearings. ive had the gearbox out a few times, its not complicated but it does take a while i found lining up the gearbox onto the engine quite time consuming aswell
  4. i had a 2.25 petrol in my 90 and found it gutless and uneconomical and poor offroad so i fitted a 200tdi disco engine which has enough power more economic and is good offroad
  5. ok thanks. FridgeFreezer is it fairly simple making up the hoses with unions as brakes are important and i dont want to have a go if i might risk it be dangerous?
  6. yes i thought the extra flex would be useful for changing wheel bearings. i was thinking of contacting llama 4x4 as i though £13 a metre was quite reasonable and i would think the back axle wouldnt need much more than a few metres
  7. yes i saw that llama 4x4 do hoses to order and thought that could be the way to go. Do you think it would be a nightmare trying to shape a new pipe without the old one to copy?
  8. is there any disadvantage to doing this?, the main reason for me doing it is because i dont have a flaring tool and i dont have the old pipe to know where the bends should be.
  9. is it legal to use braided hose instead of the normal copper lines e.g could i use braided hose for brake lines on a back axle? cheers
  10. www.land-rover-parts-shop.com sell the bits you need. I would use descent seals, bearings etc
  11. ok i see if they will fit. one other question whats the best method to support the chassis? whilst i change the axle as i want to be sure i make its safe. cheers
  12. ok cheers Les. Western is possible that although they have different part numbers they might be identical in size?
  13. hi ive got a disco 300 rear axle case with stubs and 200 hubs does anyone no if these are compatible? Also has anyone had their axle case shotblasted or does it just get in everywhere and cause to much hassle? cheers
  14. the only proplem is it cant realy be driven, which is one of the reasons im condidering doing it myself
  15. When you say remove the floor panels is that if you are doing the front outrigger as im on about the rear tubular ones or am i missing somthing
  16. ok my rear chassis outriggers are rusted to point where my fuel tank is hanging off. So i bought two new ones cut the old ones out and lined up the new ones and now i have to options; 1. Pay someone to weld them up 2. Buy a mig welder and do it my self, how difficult a job is this? as ive only learnt to weld bits of metal on a bench not underneath a vehicle, welding vertically around a tube is there anything/method i should know if i do it myself? cheers
  17. hi could someone tell me the part nos for the two shims that sit on the end of the front halfshaft cheers
  18. yes it does sound like that heres a guide from the tech archive http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=18732
  19. ok thanks for the advice, the oil seal came already in place

  21. ok got my new stub axle and it came with the bush/sleeve whatever its called, anyone got any tips on fitting it without damaging it etc? cheers
