  1. I've now got that truck and would sell the cover if you're interested. PM me for measurement etc. Cheers, Jos
  2. Teflon, Thanks for the comprehensive reply. it's full lenght chassis with RRC tank and pump AFAIK but will check this up. At the minute it's having the coil anf filter changed so will see if either of those regsiter improvement.
  3. Don't think engine temp is affecting the problem - will investigate fuel filter as a first
  4. Thanks Guys... I'll start with the fuel delivery (it scares me less than the electrics too)
  5. Hi, I bought a hybrid which is based on a 1990 v8 3.9i RRC - totally standrd running gear etc with 100" LR body. When I first used it off road going up and down steep hill I noticed the power would just die off and throttling it seemed to have no effect. This then started happening occasionally on road, especially going up hill. The engine will make popping noises and feel like it's dying and there won't be any power. Taking it out of gear and revving it helps momentarily and then it feels like it's dying off again. It's come on really bad today and I've limped home at 2 miles and hours with it popping and feeling like it's going to stall. It's worse under load and worse under revs. It seems possibly to have been aggravated by having a full tank of fuel. Could it be something obvious like a fuel pump? I'm very limited in my mechanical knowledge but what should I be looking at before either a - taking it to a garage, or b - setting fire to it? I have done a search but nanocom etc is a bit beyond me... Thanks, Jos
  6. I realise this is LR 4x4 but Land Cruisers are way more popular out there and may be more useful as a gift given that parts and knowledge to work on them will be more freely available.
  7. Petty? Bickering? Moi?
  8. Individual posts were done so people could see what was sold by looking at the For Sale page summaries, and access directly anything that interested them, without having to enter a generic post and look through stuff they weren't interested in to see if there was anything they would be interested in... I see it has been compiled into a list post now
  9. Guess this is aimed at me - sorry I have put it all on the bay as I want shot of it in a definite time and have very little idea what any of it is worth. Much as I generally despise ebay it does allow me to establish what it all is or isn't worth (hence no BIN on the bay or the forum) and get shot of it sharpish. I also listed it on the forum as I though it may be of specific interest to forum members. I would have fully listed it on the forum too, but by the time I'd loaded it all onto ebay I'd pretty much lost the will to live, and had incurred the not inconsiderable wrath of SWMBO by 1) covering the garden in bits of land rover to photograph them, 2) spending several hours on the computer and not cutting the lawn etc and 3) not spending quality time with her on a sunny weekend... so spending ages listing it all again didn't happen. Jos
  10. I've just taken some out of my old Hybrid (90 bulkhead, series seat box) and was going to be posting it up for sale with various other bits & bobs soon, so if you're anywhere near Exeter you're welcome to pop by and see if it will fit yours. Jos
  11. A note of caution: getting judgment against someone is often a lot easier than getting the actual hard cash out of them. Double check that you do get your issue fee back - I believe that in the small claims court the issue fee used to be non recoverable (as were any other legal costs save in exceptional circumstances). The 'just' going to court and getting judgment can get to be quite drawn out if the other side mucks about (rings court and says they're ill on first day hearing is listed, second time has an accident on the way, third time court goes ahead with out them present and then they apply to set aside the judgement in absence...) IF you want to issue and see if they pay go for it - but if you're not then going to pursue it to court are you throwing good monay after bad? FWIW my view is never sue anyone unless you absolutely have to - litigation takes over people's lives - and there are almost always better things you could have done with the time. Jos
  12. I'm slowly breaking my old hybrid (sob) which has an Exmoor bikini. I will have all the metal work and second hand hood for sale in due course. (If you're particularly keen I could take it off sooner rather than later...) Jos
  13. I didn't try the NFU but the addition of a winch made a substantial difference to the cost of a policy for mine - more than a total rebody in fact...
  14. Generally my experience too - they're far more interested in their slice than anything else. Not unusual to see illegal stuff on ebay... if it's not stolen it's fake! (If you know about outdiir kit and want a good laugh check out the huge selection of bargain North Face stuff...)
  15. As a lawyer and plod the issue is dishonesty - if you honestly believe the neighbour would consent to the loan then there's no question of dishonesty/there is a defence to an allegation of dishonesty. Plod may or may not be interested in charging someone; but I expect they'd be interested in seeing the chain returned and some 'words of advice' at the very least... My 2p. Jos
