  1. Woodville is near Kentville, Nova Scotia. Most mapping services know that name. Woodville is tiny and there are two of them in Nova Scotia. The wrong one, Land Rover centric, is near Dartmouth.
  2. After breaking a flange on a prop shaft I had it rebuilt. It came back without the gaiter. It has some sort of gasket held on by a cover that screws on at the slip joint. (I hope this is clear.) This is for a 101 that goes off road. Do I need the prop shaft gaiter?
  3. Labour Day Land Rover Rally 2005 Maritime Organization of Rover Enthusiasts Friday, September 2 to Monday, September 5 Every year local and Land Rover related businesses gain exposure through sponsorship of the Labour Day Rally. Past supporters include… Rovers North Atlantic British Canada and USA British Cycle Allmakes Wise Owl Innovations Save Easy Wolfville Foodland Wolfville Canadian Tire Irving Oil Limited Snow and Nealley Kent Building Supplies Radio Shack Canada Green Lee Shoe Ltd. Saint John Board of Trade Gaspereau Vineyards Gaspereau Valley Fibres The Maritime Organization of Rover Enthusiasts (MORE) was informally founded in 1987. Over the years interest in Land Rovers has ebbed and flowed, landing us here in 2005, with a strong following in the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario and the New England states. We now have an active bulletin board, gather monthly, share technical information and cooperatively complete sandblasting, galvanizing and parts orders every six to eight weeks. Our yearly events schedule looks something like this… March General Meeting April Maple Sugar Run May Moose Trophy Summer Pierre Gauthier Memorial Event July McKelvey’s summer gathering Summer Trail scouting and travels September Labour Day Rally Fall Trail scouting and travels December Holiday party and winter run Labour Day is traditionally a Land Rover family weekend here in the Maritimes. Since 1998 each fall we've seen 30 vehicles and close to 100 people from New England, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes gathering together for food, trails, scenic drives and good company. There is usually also at least one traveller from further afield. We’ve seen expedition leaders from Africa, parts suppliers from Britain, Rover owners from Norway, and many others over the years. You can find accounts of our past adventures in Land Rover Enthusiast, Land Rover World and Canadian 4x4 Magazines, as well as regional and provincial newspapers here in Nova Scotia. Our mailing list and bulletin board are frequented by Rover owners from around the world. The cost per person is $25, this includes a breakfast served up by a local community group on Saturday and Sunday mornings, packed lunch on the trail both days, and home cooked dinners on Saturday and Sunday nights that will leave you dozy and satisfied. Once again this year our home base is back in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, just outside Berwick, Nova Scotia, which is known for its abundance of apples, in Woodville, Kings County. The local community centre has been rented for the event, which has ample space for parking and camping, indoor washrooms and kitchen facility. There are rumours that we may have showers on site this year, I will confirm this shortly. Rover Polo will be played in a field not far from the community centre, and we are just a few minutes from the Funday shore, where we can have bonfires in the evenings for roasting marshmallows and telling tales about the days adventures. Three trails will be available to run on both Saturday and Sunday. Scenic, medium and challenging. I will send of details of the routes as they become available. For those who would like to enjoy Nova Scotia before or after the Rally, the Valley has much to offer. Theatre, wineries, antiques and crafts, restaurants, hiking, biking and shopping are everywhere. Historic sites at Grand Pre and Annapolis Royal, gardens, orchards and farms from one end to the other. The worlds highest tides, beaches that serve up rocks and fossils of all descriptions. Did I mention the food? Visit Farmers Markets in Wolfville or Annapolis Royal for local produce, organic meats and the most fabulous cheeses. Seafood by the ocean, wine in the vineyards, apples in the orchards, you won't go hungry here. We will see an incredible mix of Series trucks, including a couple of 80" Series I's, Defenders, Range Rovers, Discos and hopefully even a 101 Vampire. We would love to have you take part in Labour Day 2005. We provide a registration package to all participants, it always includes catalogues, newsletters and goodies from our sponsors. We have been pleased to give away spin on oil filter adapters, highlift jacks, gift certificates, hats, mugs, Whitworth tools and so many other things over the years, all provided by our generous sponsors. Please contact me for more information.
