  1. I have an innovate LC1, which has been a little problematic (and seems to the the rule rather than the exception). Works fine with a firmware upgrade. I have heard good things about the Spartan2 on 14point7.com and have just ordered a couple, we'll see how they go! They use the later Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor which does not reference outside air and so doesn't need free air calibration to keep it accurate.
  2. From all I have read on v8forum if you get to a real 300bhp on a 4,6 rv8 you are doing very well indeed! One guy on there has a very nice motor and his is putting out about 285bhp. Thats real bhp, and not TVR bhp.
  3. I must be in a particularly grumpy mood today, but its nice to see a thread where the OP went through the problem step by step instead of throwing loads of parts at the problem, which usually just ends up confusing things. Good job!
  4. I would echo ejparott's comments, read the manual, check the tech archive on here and have a go yourself. If possible, pick up a cheap one on ebay and have a go in your own time. I did my own LT77 with good results in the end - I had a problem at first, see here: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=72267
  5. MS is nice, but i would try the ignition amplifier first - symptoms usually get worse with heat so it may seem ok at first and then get worse the further you go, which is what you describe.
  6. Any reason you are using tps and not map for load sensing?
  7. Ideally I was looking for something along the lines of: "it is common knowledge that the rusty ones in your pictures were fitted to Range Rover/Disco's on the first Tuesday and 2nd to last Friday of each month, and that the new parts shown are what was fitted to everything else, unless it was someone's birthday or happened to be a leap year - in which case a third variant was used." We just happen to have these knocking around and would like to know what the differences are (or if there should be any). Cheers Jamie
  8. So are you saying that the pipe configurations for these headers was the same across various vehicles and its just that Britpart can't make them come out the same?
  9. Hi guys, Can anyone identify the rusty pipework including y-section in the attached photos? For reference the new parts shown are NTC1863 and NTC1864 which are 3.5 EFI non cat pipes. Many thanks
  10. My Dad has one of these and the best thing about it is that it doesn't get hot like a normal one, much better for when you are wedged under a vehicle in close proximity to it!
  11. I used the diode method on the Land-Rover, which worked perfectly with MJ and then MS. Foolishly this time forgot to account for it and didn't want to chop my wires to take the feeds for them, hence the relay coil method. If you do use a relay, make sure you take the contacts out- the buzz it made with them in while I was testing was annoying to say the least! I didn't make any changes internally on the MS, so should work OK with MJ too- just build the whole thing externally like I did. Having said this a handful of diodes is cheaper than a relay though!
  12. Could you use this: http://www.classicroverforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=16625&start=120#p159162 connected to the tach out on the MJ unit, or failing that the tach out on the EDIS module itself? I am using one to drive the tach in my Rover P6. Scroll down a bit to see the prototype and the 2nd version...
  13. I tend to tin the pin a little bit, then strip and tin the wire. Then you just heat the pin a little and push the wire into place. Slide some heatshrink over the joint and Bob is your mothers brother. Keeping your tip clean helps (as applies to so many things in life )
  14. Normally the vr sensor connections are shielded with what is basically tin foil wrapped with insulation tape. I usually remove this when extending the loom out from the edis plug with nice shielded cable.
  15. I have read that you can often finish off servos and/or master cylinders when bleeding as the pumping action employed can be too much for tired components. Bit of a pain! Not happened to me so far though... Yet!
  16. I've seen them used to clean up post boxes before they get repainted. Maybe a bit harsh for most LR stuff?
