  1. Sorry, not to hand. To be honest what I got sent has never been the best fit
  2. Evening fellas, having a little heating issue with my 300tdi, last weekend it started sitting just below the red no matter how I was driving so I whipped out the thermostat and checked it and as I thought it was knackered, so I purchased a new 78•c thermostat and fitted and seemed fine but a while later and it’s heating again. Iv pulled the thermostat as I’d left for a few days away camping and still it’s overheating without the thermostat in. I then realised my electric fan hadn’t been wired properly when the garage rebuilt that engine and installed it. No power to the x switch so ran a cable to the switch and it’s kept the heat under control unless I’m on a really long climb or driving hard then it’s almost into the red again. Iv ran out of ideas
  3. Hi, sorry not been on for a while. Looking for £30, includes hot start, wiring and a couple o metres of coolant hose
  4. Ok, so tried it, worked fine but Iv decided to go the Chinese diesel heater route so this will be goin up for sale
  5. Ok so following on from my poor starting issue I now yet again have an oil leak coming from the rear of the engine and suddenly the clutch has gone spongy and started slipping badly. Also on tickover she is to quote an old friend “KNOCKING HER TITS OFF”. She takes ages to start but it’s as if it’s trying to get fuel through then the first few seconds runs very rough and blows a lot of white reek then settles down to a knocking. IMG_1778.MOV
  6. She’s sounding very knocky and she’s taking a lot of cranking to pull the fuel through, I’m thinking possible injector or split in a fuel line
  7. Ok so iv just had a 300tdi rebuilt to replace the old knackered one, as far as I’m aware it got new timing kit, head gasket including head skim and new bolts, new turbo core, it’s got boost ring and pin and adjustable boost but now on cold startup this engine needs held to heat for a few seconds then once it fires up it miss’s as in sound like it runs on 3 cylinders. If you rev it you can often hear a couple o pops from the exhaust and plenty white/grey smoke, then all of a sudden it clears. What would all you knowledgeable chaps suggest?
  8. Not a prob nige, was just trying to figure out roughly how much I need to spend to finish my V8 build. Will get on once it’s re opened. Gota re engine my 300tdi first unfortunatley
  9. Ok chaps, iv been trying to get onto the MegasquirtV8 site but I keep getting a site unavailable message, does anyone know if it’s down or might the address have changed?
  10. Finally got my front end together this weekend on my 1986 90 and have got indicators, sidelights etc all working. I’m running a boomslang loom and when refitting installed LEDs. The boomslang is earthed to both inner wings and the main harness is also earthed to the inner wing but at a separate point. Also my fuel gauge isn’t registering. Anyone able to suggest something I might have missed?
  11. Sorted now, cheers guys. Tapped the plate down abit at the top of the gear worm so it was tighter against the wheel.
  12. Defo metal wheels, I maybe just need to adjust things a little. They work no probs with the wipers lifted but once back on the window it slightly grips the passenger one but doesn’t move the drivers at all. Must investigate further today
  13. I had them nipped up tight and they slipped so I loosened the nuts off slightly and they still did it
  14. Evening all, I’m having abit of an issue with my wipers at the moment and hope you kind chaps can point out where iv gone wrong. Whilst fitting a new bulkhead I fitted new wheel boxes which work fine if the blades are lifted off the windows but when ye put them down they just click as you watch this cable go back and forth but the wheels stay still. Iv Google’s it and come up with either grease the wheelboxes or loosen the nuts but iv not had a chance to try either yet
  15. Iv got the same issue. As soon as I tighten it it starts to bulge, iv poured water around the heater and nothings come through so until I have more spare time it’s gona have to do
  16. My metal trim was stuck to the dash when I removed it so opposite way from yours. Iv stuck mine now with tiger seal and stuck the trim to the bulkhead too. My foam on the flap was jiggered too so I just bout a sheet of adhesive foam rubber and cut a section to stick to the flap
  17. Might glue mine at both ends then hold it in position til it sets 😂
  18. Lol, that’s pretty much how it ends up when I do it. I might try putting the bit trim in on the inside of the bulkhead and see if that helps
  19. That’s the one I had but when I took the renements of the old one off it was as if the surround went in between it so I foolishly tried to slice it and made a right arse of it so new one on order. It just seems to big on its outer edge to go on the inner edge but also too small on the inner edge to go round. I’m guessing I’m gona need contact adhesive or some type of sealant to stick it in place
  20. Ok so whilst I had the bulkhead out I found a few issues. The nut on the starter was loose so that got tightened and a second but put on to lock it in, there was an earth from battery to rear outrigger and one from battery to bottom of starter but none to starter, so iv placed one from battery to gear/transfer joint and the one at the from from block to chassis, hopefully once she’s back together she will be ok.
  21. Ok so I’m in the process of replacing my bulkhead on my 1986 90 and today went to refurb the heater but found a problem with the heater to bulkhead seal. The old one was stuck around both sides of the mounting frame but the new seat (stc952) had no cutouts to do this so I tried squeezing it within the frame in the hope it might work but on fitting it just oozes through into the bulkhead so I removed it and tried slicing a channel in it to fit round the frame but ended up with holes through it so finally threw in the tunnel. Would anyone know if there’s a different seal for earlier vehicles?
  22. Ok so iv always had starting issues with my 90 but always seemed to cope with it but today she just wouldn’t start at all. The dash lights went out as soon as I turned the key but not even a click out the starter so I plugged in the jump leads and eventually she fired. Went to put it back in the garage and same again but this time before I decided to plug in I accidentally moved the gear lever and the dash lights came back on so I turned the key again and still nothing so decided to hold the stick towards me and the lights came back on so whilst holding the stick towards me I turned the key and hey presto she started no probs. I’m thinking I have an earth issue and notice all I have is an earth from battery to chassis and another from chassis to starter. Is it possible I should have an earth to the gearbox too or am I missing a trick here?
