  1. Here's my attempt.....seemed to work fine at the Three Peaks Last weekend!!
  2. Have a look at Minety and Foxham 4x4 both fairly close to Glos area
  3. A mate of mine has a SWB Toyota Land Cruiser for sale, G plate and v.tidy!! Think it's a 2.4td?! Already on decent tyres. If your interested I can find out more......... Mike
  4. I'm after 4 x Ropes to kit out mine and some mates Trucks. All 11mm 100ft with Competition Hook, Thimble and Hawse Fairlead. Any suggestions on Suppliers, looking for good quality rope but looking for a good price Thanks in advance Mike
  5. Does anyone know if you can buy this part, for a 90"/Defender Chassis?? Before I spend ages remaking my current one?? Thanks in advance Mike
  6. Is there any chance of posting some pics of your 2nd Alternator set up?? Before I start knocking up something on mine. Also what size alternators are you using and number of batteries?? I want to try and get it right first time as it could be a costly mistake!!lol Cheers Mike
  7. Hi Ciderman, Can you keep us posted on this topic, I went to my local Land Rover Dealer for one of these (air con pulley/tensioner) and the price was stupid....something like £150?! Are you using one for a second alternator?? As this is what i'm trying to get my head round at the moment..... Cheers Mike
  8. I'm currently running Bearmach Blue +50mm Springs and DeCarbon Shocks on my 200Tdi 90. They are the 'Off Road' ones not the Heavy Duty. I've been trying to find out the Ratings for these, but the Codes stamped on the Springs do not tie up with the info on the Spring Guide in the Tech Archieve. Front Springs BA2251 Rear Springs BA2252 They've only been on the Truck for a short time and the Fronts always sat lower than the Back, i'm in the process of fitting a Winch Bumper and 8274 and thinking of swaping the Fronts/Rears around to try and level the ride height?! The Rear Springs look far stronger and as there will be no weight in the back i was hoping this could cure my problems without spending even more cash?! Any thoughts?? Cheers Mike
  9. Thanks for all your responses so far, just what I was looking for!! I've been having a look in 'The Book of Lies' (Haynes) and the A/C Belt tensioner appears to go inside the Belt run allowing clearance for the Water pump?! Is the tensioner something avaliable off the shelf before I spend ages making one (Can't find them listed on Paddocks)?! Does it replace the plate on the Timing Cover?? Does the Single Vee Belt seem to cope OK with the Alternator pulling full current?? Thanks in advance Mike
  10. Morning-The next in my long list of things to do is sort the charging system on the Challenge Truck build, done some searching and have some rough ideas. Engine is a Disco 200Tdi fitted into 90. Winches are 1 maybe 2 8274's. Budget......not very much!!lol Thinking along the lines of using a second alternator in the A/C Pump position and this charging two batteries purely for the Winch/winches.Leaving the original battery for 'normal things'. Am I heading in the right direction?! What 2nd alternator size are people using, recommended make/size of battery, cables?! If anybody has pics of there 200Tdi Twin Alternator set up, that would be v.useful!! Thanks in advance Mike Ellis
  11. Just fitting a Disco Front Axle under my 1986 90, went to fit the Brake Calipers to find the Bolts are a different size!! I want to stick with the 90 calipers as they are 'single line'. The 90 Axle has Corse Thread Bolts with approx 11.95mm Shoulder (plain dia) where as the Disco Bolts are Fine Thread with 11mm Shoulder. Therefore the Disco Bolts are a slack fit in the 90 Caliper. Anyone come accross this before....is there a simple solution before I start making shims up?? Cheers Mike
  12. Old Spot is selling Coupling's to suit 200/300 Tdi Crankshafts > Hydro pumps. If you can't get hold of him on here let me know and i'll chase him for you. Mike
