  1. It may not be a 5 minute job, but if you are prepared to run around in a rat-rod like fashion at least knowing the underpinnings are good then it may not be as much work as it could be.
  2. That's been a LOOOONG conversation many times!
  3. Same! I do have digital as well.... but the proper ones always work.
  4. So, what you are saying is you need to fix up the Jem so you can take the Ibex off the road for a short period of time?
  5. Yep, pretty weird juxtaposition to be fair!
  6. Yeah... you'll very likely need to move the whole lot forward a bit, and get new props, and quite a few other bits.
  7. I am not surprised in the slightest, it looks truly fantastic.
  8. 14.5V at the alternator is quite normal, though it can depend on the car, some have slightly lower rated voltage regulators fitted.
  9. I meant to add..... If there's a chance I can help you out, just shout.
  10. Glad to hear there's sill plans afoot, get well fella and just keep us in the loop with the continuing madness
  11. What an innocuous post to start this thread with.... Anyway! How's progress Stephen?
  12. Yeah, everyone is hoarding them, broken or working
  13. But the puddle lights will work off the same circuit as the interior light if you get the 10AsS working as it should, and use what you have.
  14. LGT has literally a fingers width between PAS pump pulley and radiator outlet
  15. Bit of insulation tape over it until you get the td5 in.
  16. Pay 500, rip everything out, ecu flash for 250, scrap the rest for ~250 round here at the moment, and still less than a Tdi build. And a whole lot more fun.
  17. Just throw another option into the pot, is it possible you have a mix of tdi and V8 pipes there? The carbs on a V8 used metal fuel line to go between the two carbs(if I remember correctly) , perhaps one or both are not tdi at all...
  18. Charge controller controls the voltage, so I would start there. That said, some of these controllers have a higher voltage/frequency mode to help maintain the battery, often run just once a month, it could have been that? Worth checking the manual, I would think.
  19. Er, really? We've had massive subsidies, clean air zones, sustained fuel duty, exemption from congestion charges and zero licence costs. Whilst they are reducing, the ev manufacturers are still being propped up with tax payer funds.
  20. Think much of the public has, especially outside London.
  21. I think you know it makes sense, as long as you have factored in all the miscellaneous rubbish you will need to get it running properly.
