  1. This is almost getting to the point of ordering up a custom D60 from the states with a fully built gearset inside it - it's very common to just gives specs for the centre and width, tubes etc and they just make one for you.
  2. Cloning the fob on a vehicle with all the anti theft properties of a fiver left on top of a low wall on a busy street would be the last of my concerns.
  3. Could also be the fuel pump not running after initial fire?
  4. Absolutely is I'm afraid, as it tells a reader that a certain email address has an account on this website -hopefully the obfuscation has helped allay any problems There was the incident a few years ago where Tinder(I think? Or something very similar.....) would tell the user whether an email address had account during the password reset process -this was great for suspicious partners wanting to check up on their other half!
  5. They are all inter-related, if you adjust CW you will push it more/less into the root, but will also move it out/in on the crownwheel due to the taper.
  6. That looks pretty good to me, and your assumptions about how it all moves with adjustment are, I think, correct.
  7. That making for motorsport channel is pretty good, though he posts rarely, sadly. He once 3D printed an entire inlet manifold for ITBs, drawn in CAD from scratch.
  8. So looking at the actual swivel it is standard across : Defender 2007-2016 - All models - Quantity Required - 2 Defender 1983-2006 - Models from VIN LA930456, (axle) 61L to 63S & 10M to 17M - Quantity Required - 2 Discovery 1 - All non ABS models - Quantity Required - 2 Range Rover Classic - All non ABS models VIN CA on - Quantity Required - 2 So in other words you can probably fit the swivel ball (the chalice or whatever you want to call it) to any D1/RRC/Defender as long as it doesn't have ABS.
  9. Late RRC 10 spline are taper roller bearing top and bottom.
  10. Don't own anything German either then.... £140 is definitely not top whack for a main dealer these days.
  11. 25 all round.. Or 15 off road, on 235 muds. But then LGT is not really comparable, and more air in there and he might float away
  12. Only 1140Kg apparently.... something aluminium and revvy sounds good to me
  13. Yep..... but these days this is a problem: Perhaps a nice French V6 would bolt in there instead
  14. Oh, now that's not a make you hear much of any more, Matra Rancho anyone?
  15. If I weren't clear, I honestly do t think you'll have a problem rescuing anything that's good, even the Cvs. Bear in mind most aftermarket parts quality is pap compared what may be original fit.... For that reason alone I would be keeping what you have where possible.
  16. Agreed, sleepers/timber blocks are great, but the hardwood ones are a big heavy for us mere mortals
  17. Even the 10 spline shafts, with stock/close to stock tyres, last very well, I was running 34s with 10 spline and a locker, and somehow never managed to snap anything -twisted yes, but no snap. But then I don't think I drive like a moron.
  18. Agreed, red stuff like a little bit of warmth, that said the first braking operation at the end of the road is fine, and I never need to think about it again. I'll be running them in future, for sure.
  19. I just buy the 'not £9 a set' brand pads and they seem fine. That said, I've got EBC red stuff in my Audi and I love them, especially when pressing on a bit.
  20. I really don't agree with ramps for a land rover, they are very often too flimsy and offer no tangible benefit over a lifted axle, IMHO. I have just scrapped three sets of ramps as they have all got ruined in various ways, mostly bent on the upramp, despite being rated to 2 tons. The 'trick' with carpet or cardboard or wood is something you can do, but really is a trick you shouldn't need. All IMHO, we can all disagree of course
  21. Yup, this is the whole matched set, as mine was an earlier box and was fitting a 1.0:1. So should fit anything, by my reckoning.
  22. Not really, you just need to be able to read the workshop manual in most cases. Then everything else is found with a google search and reading.
