  1. Erm, isn't this about steering UJ's and not ball joints/track rod ends?
  2. Rightlines (posted HERE) are great, half way through my batch of 50, no problems yet
  3. Ditto, these are fine for occasional use, just take your time and practice, mounting then in a vice helps too.
  4. 3 write ups in the tech archive: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=4731 The search button is your friend
  5. You can go direct as well, they are only in Middlezoy, Somerset, a friend went there for his hybrid thing that he drives and they were very very helpful: http://www.superpro.eu.com/
  6. No need for a self-levelling headlamp in a coilled Rangie, they have a levelling unit in the rear for just this reason.
  7. Jason, I don't see that you are outside their 'reasonable application of the law' in this respect, though of course if PC Plod had had a bad day when he pulled you, technically you are outside of the law, I suppose it is your choice. Personally I wouldn't worry about it, you've certainly tried your best to comply.
  8. Yeah I spotted that one too ...and leave us Uni of Bath graduates alone, my Engerlish is absolooley foine now I loive baaak in Zummerzet.... It's just a shame my fingers don't always follow what my brain is trying to say It used to put me off when people couldn't write even an advert correctly, but then you also find those people are some of the most skilled/knowledgeable in the country.
  9. I might be wrong, but I think the Rangie self-leveller complies with the above? So you'd just need the Rangie headlamp washer that's fitted to the SE, or am I missing something? Sorry if this is OT...
  10. Really you need the autobox out of a 200TDI auto Disco/Rangey, they have different change points to the V8 box, the component parts you have wouldn't make a good marriage. But then I suppose if you'd read the linked post you would know that anyways...
  11. See how it drives with the HD springs and new dampers, I think you'll find it's as far as you'll need to go TBH
  12. I'd be tempted to go with heavier duty OE springs and gas dampers than go to the faff of fitting the anti-roll bars. the dampers and springs would control the roll of the truck just as well as a set of ARBs, plus they are cheap and probably need replacing anyways given the age of the vehicle.
  13. After a set of belts for a 1992 3.9 V8 RRC with aircon (pre-serp obviously), part numbers would be lovely as all the usual suspects on the internet don't seem to list these very well That's 3 long ones that look identical and one short one to the PAS pump, I think at least! Many thanks Bowie.
  14. The capped pipe looks like an autobox oiler cooler union, rather than a water union, so I wouldn't worry about it. There's probably another at the bottom of the rad. You broke the first rule of LR, if it ain't broke don't fix it
  15. The standard Disco/Range Rover bottle jack is perfect for wheel changes, as long as you put it under the axle, if you try to lift under the chassis there's no way it will reach high enough to clear the suspension droop even on a standard Disco.
  16. Take a wire from the positive battery terminal and touch it on the small terminal on the starter -if it cranks your battery & starter are fine, and the fault is either your immobiliser, ignition switch or a relay between the two. I don't have a wiring diagram but I am sure there is someone on here that has
  17. Is the clicking really loud, from the starter, or is it just a relay clicking in the passenger footwell? If the alarm LED is on then I suspect the alarm is still on, and it includes an immobiliser which is killing your starter circuit.
  18. Even down to -7C mine started and ran fine on LPG, but it will depend a LOT on the vapouriser fitted as to the problems you get, your symptoms sound like its not warm enough, if it happens again, pop the bonnet and stick yur hand on the vapouriser and see if it is very cold, if so it's definitely the problem. It could still be your problem however, particularily if it's a sequential system (which I don't think it is, from your description).
  19. It hides paint blemishes and makes them look shiny...
  20. There's nothing on the card to say it is an expiry date, it's just a date, to cap it as someone else has said the dates on the reverse are the year of my 70th birthday. I checked the paper elemnt as well, nothing on here is telling that the photocard expires. I would say this is hardly clear.
  21. For future reference, and those without a Maplin nearby, this is the one I mentioned: http://www.tinleytech.co.uk/acatalog/Software_and_leads.html Definitely a Prolific chipset
  22. Certainly for MegaJOLT I found the one I bought for an LPG system works faultlessly, the chipset should be 'Prolific' is all that I can remember from the thread mentioned above ^^^
