  1. I would like to comment on the second problem item with the rattle, you are suffering with identical rattle to our newly purchased td5 ser 2 2001, we have just recently taken our l/r in for diags on the rattle. The garage have told us that, where the down pipe(manifold) meets the the first box section there is a coublin device that allows for movement in the exhast, this is beginning to break down and two metal components are rubbing together. The cheapest price for the front box section is £87.00 + vat online from britpart +gaskets are for joints are 0.20p each approx We are off to watch the world offsore power raceing in isle of weight this weekend, so i hope it should not give us grief as this is the first time since having the car that a large distance will be done. best of luck mcw bridgwater
  2. On my new td5 disco series 2 2001 the last owner stuck on some after market rock slidders( things that run along the door seals) but i have seen on other l/r td5 that are black rubber and link up to the front mudflap, i would like to take mine back to original spec, also i would like the rear lights protective surround like a black frame that screws to the lights. Any idea were the best place is to buy these item, i have been told that the L/R shows are a good place to buy second hand bits, is this true alot of the show are a long way from me i would hate to travel for 3-4 hours for nothing. mcw somerset
  3. Hi to every one . Hvae just brought my first landy td5 ser 2 2001 and i am so pleased with it, i never thought i would change from being a pajero follower for 3 years( which we are still trying to sell the thing.) I was allways worried that the L/R were allways farmers vehicles and were no good for the 2.4 family but after taking the plunge and luckly geeting a bit a finance to buy its brillllllllll. and it also can tow our 22 ft sports cruiser boat. The only that does pee me off is: i love to keep my cars spotless in and out and you will never see a bit of mud on my L/R becuase its for the family and especially towing a 2 ton boat so i need that power, but the look people give us when driving, "and you can here them muttering he dosent need that thing pullating the world" yes i polish my vehicle monthly yes i gloss the tire walls and every thing else i do . but its in a better condition than some newer cars i have seen and it dosent smoke a bit I love the td5 to bits best car ever brought to date and i hope the world will be filled with many many more .
