  6. so... this weeks drama on my freelander (01 td4) previous power problems gradually dying to a crawl, got her home now struggles to start, once it has started it runs like a bitch, as soon as i press the accelerator pedal the EML comes on and the it splutters and dies. so im thinking fuel problems?? the under bonnet pump is buzzing a bit, i disconnected the fuel ouput line from the filter (only 2 weeks old) and the fuel is coming out but not shooting out but more like a steady flow down. there is no visible indication of air in the fuel. ive checked the in tank pump nad its running silently and i can here the fuel returning. so now im a bit stuck, what delivery rate should i expect to see on the under bonnet pump when the fuel is disconnected should it shoot out under a bit of pressure or is it supposed to be slow and steady. any help appreciated guys its driving me nuts! but please dont tell me to unplug the maf or check tyre pressures! lol

  18. hi guys, ive had **** performance and fuel consumption for a while now but driving home today luckily only about 3 miles from home. i had a knocking noise and steam from under the bonnet pulled in the lay bye and there was oil, smoke, fuel all down the back of the engine. i add though the temp gauge stayed in the normal zone. i whipped the engine cover off and number 1 injector is stood proud about 2 inches! one stud had sheered and one stud from what i can see has pulled out the head. Anybody else had something similar at all? its too dark and wet to get on it now but was wondering if it had happened due to excessive pressure in the cylinder due to the head going? Im hoping i can just renew the studs refit the injector with a new copper washer etc and its going to purr back to life??? Any comments gratefully received. cheers lee
  19. No probs hope it works sometimes the Insulation starts breaking Down causing a open circuit type fault on the injector which gives the same symptoms as a nacked Injector you can test with a multimeter if you have one its easy
  20. I'd check the harness try disconnecting the injector leads and clean them with an electrical contact cleaner it's world for me in the past when mine flagged up a screwed injector.
  21. Stupid question but how would I know if I had a fuel burn heater fitted? Is there a switch on the dash or where is it fitted? Thanks
  22. That's kinda along the lines I was thinking! I've slept in mine loads when I've been working away but usually take the passenger head rest off and fold the seat flat and sort of lie across the bak with my legs on he front but its not ideal really!
  23. Just wondering if anybody has slept / camped in there freelander and how they done it?
  24. What do you mean by turbo nozzle? Thanks
