  1. Hi Paul, Welcome to the world of Hippo ownership! Seeing as the radio/CD works OK I would look at the earth arrangement on the multichanger itself. It could be a simple grounding fault - take a piece of wire from a metallic part of the multichanger (one of the screws or somewhere on the casing should have an earth symbol next to it) and ground it out on the chassis somewhere...it's worth a try! Good luck! Big Flow77
  2. Hi Mate - assuming you have a good spark at each plug, i guess the next port of call would be the fuel system. You could check the standard stuff like the fuel filter, fuel pump, contaminated fuel etc etc I'm not too sure on the petrol engine, but think i read somewhere about poor fuel delivery from the in tank pump causing similar problems.
  3. Incidentally guys I've just fitted an EGR blanking kit (thanks Jonners for the tip!) to help the engine breathe easier in general. The crisper throttle response seems to help with the slow gearchange too - result!
  4. Thanks EggNChips - Sounds a bit intimidating to me. I'm not scared to pick up the spanners, but sometimes a little knowledge is dangerous! Maybe I'll just get it checked at the next service.........
  5. Hi bm52, good point - just checked my service book and it's not been changed yet. No mention of mileage or time in the owners handbook either. Looks like a job for the weekend! Thanks for the tip!
  6. Hi Jonners - long time no see ! I've gone through it, but i haven't seen it mentioned - maybe the H@ynes manual will cover it?

  8. Thanks Tacr2man, I guess if it's supposed to be like that it's better left as is. I was worried it could be something more sinister!
  9. Hi guys, another newbie here. I have a 2005 TD4 auto SE on 50k miles and have noticed that the auto box is painfully slow changing gear when the engine is cold, in fact i have to use 'sport' (!) mode for the first couple of miles to keep the MPG sensible. As soon as it warms up it works a treat......... Is this normal? Could it be a gearbox oil issue (last service was by a non-franchised dealer)? Any help much appreciated!
