  1. All its warranty info. Basically gives details of build date, reg date, supplying dealer, build spec, trim level, colour, lock codes, etc etc. In this case it would be handy as it also shows all the warranty claims on a vehicle and where they where carried out.
  2. Re SAS Range Rovers, the last ones they had where Classics. Very late build SE's. Mine is the only one to still have all the paperwork from day 1, but appears to have suffered from questionable serviceing. The P38 in question could be alot of things. As a general (and it is general) rule of thumb expect Police ones to be cloth interior with an uprated electrical system. This one sounds odd being on a non-transferable plate. My guess is ex-Govt embassy vehicle or similar. Easiest way to see where its been is to run the VIN through DDW and see where the warranty claims where done. PM me the last six if you want me to have a look.
  3. Nice one! Where abouts are you based? Just thinking about trying to get a few of these together at one of the shows next year?
  4. I like the livery in the second photo! Any ideas of its history after demob?
  5. It might work quite well with some sort of space farme rather than a Land Rover body as such. I would guess the best donour would be a rolled P38, ideally late and low mileage.
  6. Factory 200 TDI was hard dash manual only Factory 300 TDI was soft dash, manual or auto in all trim levels My brother will be selling a Silver 200 Vogue. Loads of money spent on it, includeing a recent transfer box. Has been used every day for traveling to and from work. Nice vehicle. Also have a mate selling a 300 Vogue SE auto. Converted to coil suspension ths one is mechaincally good but cosmetically a little tired. PM if either sound of interest. The 300 is cheap, not sure what my brother wants for his yet.
  7. Got a 4.6 HSE sat here that would make a nice base! If you want it make an offer...
  8. According to Archie Mckinnon's list that should be HCB body number 5166/22 Have you got in touch with him yet? If not I'll PM you his email address
  9. Replied, will let you know!
  10. PM me your reg number and I'll see if I can find any history on it. Havent heard of any head gaskets on these but the belts should have been done on its 48k service
  11. Earl, sorry for delay, I only just got your email, dont check that account too often! Sounds like yours is an ex RAF unit. The RAF ones had extra pre heaters with plugs on the back. I'll check my files and post more info tomorrow
  12. Good price, out of curiosity how did you find buying at auction. We've got a couple of Freelanders with BCA at the monet but I think they're at the Bedford site.
  13. Only 1 key? Thats an issue between yourself and your salesman. Hardly a reflection of the main dealer network. Yes there are some poor dealers out there, show me an industry where there arent. But I am confident that I can give either yourself or anyone else on this forum the best service possible. If you're in the area PM me and drop in, we're genuinely friendly whether you're buying or not!!
  14. Bit odd, up untill quite recently Clarkson was banned from Land Rovers, something to do with ignoreing instructions and rolling one a few years ago...
  15. Hell no, I've seen far too many people ripped of by independants. Yes, you may pay slightly more buying from me. BUT you buy piece of mind, a proper warranty that does cover everything, a proper 114 check of everything, fuilly prep'd to very high standards., etc etc etc. As an example phone a couple if independants and ask what the minimum tread depth they will let a car go out with is...
  16. Be very careful with independants. If they offer a warranty check exactly what it covers and upper claim limit. Some will only cover the first £500 of a claim!! Have you looked at the prices they make at Brightwells? How much of a rush are you in? The cheapest TD4 I've got access to at the moment is a 51 plate S. Thats £8k though.
  17. On Ebay at the moment is a P38 converted to Mitsubishi diesel 4595158651 I drove a similar one a fews ago and it was actually very good.
  18. Ok, whats your budget? TD4 is superb, if you can stretch to it thats the one for you. L series is a good engine but now very dated in terms of NVH. 1.8 is underpowered and usually trouble. Pre X reg Freelanders are a waste of time. Cheap dated interiors (that will be stained and naff looking by now), dodgey gear ratios, questionable build quality etc etc. In answer to the rear window it is EXCELLENT!!! Very usefull and does not let water in (if late type seal has been fitted correctly The above is based on my time in the workshop and now on sales all with Main Dealers. Freelanders can be good, but you need to get a good one, ideally 01my onwards
  19. Wouldnt it be easier to cut in front off where you shortened it and then useing a 110 chassis as donour add the back end of it to get the required length?
  20. Sadly I'm not going to make it, I'm working Saturday, then in the area for Sat night. The problem is I have been completely and utterly banned from useing my demo 110 XS off road and I wont have time to swap vehicles. Rats!
  21. Depending on lots of thinks we may or may not be there in one or two vehicles. Will know Thurs eve.
