  1. Hi All, Hoping someone might be able to help. Have a TD5 110 which today (also happened 12 months or so ago), on a very slight incline in the heavy rain, engine warning light came on and could not make any changes to revs but truck happy to stay on tickover. When the gearbox is in neutral no problem to rev it at all. Then as soon as gears engaged, light on no power. Managed to limp at tickover to friends, can use all gears in tickover. Last time it happened same circumstances, heavy rain/wet, also on the slight incline. Took the car into be checked over and no faults could be found when looked at 2 days later and drove fine. Water ingress somewhere? Any ideas greatly welcomed. Thanks Rich
  2. Hi all, Thanks for the replies, it will gove me something to do at the : ) I keep you posted on what I sort out. Cheers Rich
  3. Hi All, Hoping that someone might be able to help with my very poorly performing heater in our 110 TD5. It runs and eventually it gets hot but never really hot and usually by the time the journey has ended! Can anyone give me any pointers as to parts of the system that can go wrong or things that I can check to either improve or fix its performance. Any help would b most appreciated as currently I have to dress the kids like Yeti's when we go out for a drive : ) Thanks Rich an a very cold family!

  8. Good places to look are the classified sections on the forum website here, www.awdc.co.uk, www.difflock.com, www.4x4web.co.uk and of course ebay I find that you can get a better looked after vehicle on the specific websites rather than ebay cos they're often looked after by enthusiasts. Just have a really good look around, take all the advice from here on what to look for, like for example RUST and don't buy the first one that you see that moves. If you take your time there's always bargins to be had Good luck with your hunt! Rich
  9. Hey Nathan. I reckon the RRC is a great choice for you. I've had a variety of landrovers over the years and were all fine but when you feel the need to start including the family in off roading nothing beats the rangey. I went for one because I'm a big lad anyway and fed up of getting landrover elbow being cramped in my old age I wanted something more compfy. It also fits the mrs and our 2 lads in in total comfort. There cheap to pick up if your patient. Now personally I have a 200 tdi in mine which in the long run I felt was worth the slightly extra cash for better fuel consumption and occasional dunkings in the water. Its really competant in basic format so once you decided how aggresive you want to go on the tyres you can add as you get the cash and go along. The last truck I had was a 100" hybrid I made from a 110 because i love the wheelbase but my rangey's as good as that and 10 times more compfy. Besides if its good enough for the Queen its good enough for my kids! Hope you find something suitable. My advice would be go normal non air suspension and if your budget will stretch go diesel. Rich
  10. Jericho Its the AWDC/Scorpian racing clubman challenge. Imagine details are on the scrapiron website. Rich
  11. Boothy, If your coming down from Cheshire I'll assume your on the M5, come off at Worcester north junc 6. Take the dual carriageway 4th exit signposted Blackpole or Kidderminster. Straight over at next roundabout then turn off next main left to Ombersley. Turn left at next roundabout in village. This take you over the severn and up to holt heath. Continue on what is in essence straight on on the Tenbury Wells Road. Little Witley is the next village you come too although its more of a collection of houses soread out along a road. The site is a accessed from a small track on the right hand side of the road by the side of a house. Have fun and good luck Rich
  12. Cheers for that Alan I'll remember to pack my landrover special tool 447 - the big lump hammer, incase I need any mid event tweeking
  13. Looks like I'm going too very excited as this will be my first event of this type so wish me luck! Especially as going to be in my un-bobbed RRC! Any budding zen style words of advice greatly received Rich
  14. Little Witley is north west of worcester on the road to Tenbury Wells. if your coming via the M5 best get off at junction 6 The site is in a valley the centre of which is a series of inter connected man made lakes with a stream running off and down through the woods. One side of the site is steep and heavily wooded leading upto fields and the other not so steep or high doing the same. There are some cleared areas around the lakes themselves that also get used. Its a great site for trials, as can be seen by the pic above, used by AWDC and others and I'm sure will be cool for the clubman challenge. Good luck to anyone going. Rich
  15. Cheers for the reply Russ, I've sent you a PM because i could move things to sat : ) Rich
  16. Hi all, Its my first post so if it appears incorrectly I do apologise I was hoping to go go laning with my two boys on Friday preferably mid walesish and as far over to the strata florida. I have lots of lanes marked up on my maps but not 100% on the current legality of some but if I go alone I'll just have to do the easier ones and most well known. Was hoping to find another truck/trucks to come with us to share some knowledge on the lanes and also to have another vehicle to help recover either either/any of us. My boys are only 5 and 7 and so aren't much use yet with the ground anchors I have a well kitted out RRC with winches front and rear with a few scars. If anyone fancies it let me know. The summer holiday is driving me nuts and its the last day we'll have a chance to go out before work again on Monday. Cheers all Rich, Dan and Lewis
