  1. I fitted a "T" piece to the oil pressure switch aperture so I could connect a mechanical (as oppossed to an electronic one) oil pressure guage. Got them both from these people who have been operating in this field since motor cars were invented (almost!). http://www.speedograph-richfield.com/
  2. It only takes a couple of minutes to lie under the Disco and check the front axle oil level. I us a pump action oil can to fill it up.
  3. I connected up a mechanical (as oppossed to an electronic), old fashioned oil pressure guage. I bought a "T" piece and a Smiths dashboard mounted oil pressue guage from the following people. The guage does as it says, just sits on top of the dashboard to the left of the switches. http://www.speedograph-richfield.com/
  4. If it is any consolation I have the same problem. I find I have to give the lever a sharp pull to get it to work. It is on my list of jobs!

    D1 Seats

I have just fitted a replacement Exmoor seat cushion to my Disco i and it was dead easy. Comes with good instructions. Alternatively why not fit some Volvo 940 seats from a scrap yard? Very comfortable and loads of metal on the seat base to fix to. I also have a 940 and I know which seats I'd rather sit in on a long journey.
  6. Yes the oil pressure switches are the same part number at Paddocks, PRC6387, for both the 200 and 300 Tdi. I think I'll have to fit a pressure guage to see whats going on. Someone has suggested it might be my big end and main bearings going!. I'd rather replace the oil pump than get involved with that lot!!
  7. My oil light has been blinking so I have recently changed the oil, removed the sump and clean the reasonably clean strainer. The light is still intermitantly blinking and the pressure switch was changed 2 weeks ago. Any ideas what my problem might be? Done 117,000 miles uses no oil. Thinking of fitting an oil pressure guage, has any one done this, was it mechanical or electrical gauge and what make was it and how easy to fit?
