  1. A mate of mine used an RRC shell cut down to a ute and fitted it to a 300tdi chassis, he then fitted the complete D1 dash .

Took a lot time drilling out spot welds then welding d1 dash metal in place, it now has a td5 and d2 dash.

  2. Boydie are you sure that 2.5 is not in fact a HS2.8 ? As said there were no 2.5 Isuzu's fitted to Aus Landy's, only the 4BD1 and 4BDTt in certain Perentie models.

Plenty of 4BD powered RRC's and 110's on AULRO and even 1 guy with one in his D1, easy to fit if you use the LT95/LT85 or now the isuzu MSA box is being mated to the LT230.

  3. Mine is an 01/98 build 300tdi non edc model, no spider behind the the dash so i'm open to suggestions as to where it may be if it is there. My 2 button fobs work perfectly and the only issue that is pissing me off is no power to the injection pump solenoid and no glow plugs (not really an issue here ).

On the US landrover form a post mention cutting and joining a couple of wires before the alarm module but that didnt work for me.

  4. What year is your disco ? I've been chasing an imobiliser issue for about 3 years and still unable to fix it, mine has disabled the glow plug circuit which was a pain this winter since it was one of the coldest on record.

Late D1's dont have a spider so dont go pulling the dash apart looking for it.

  5. As with any landy engine transplant the transmission is the hardest part especially if you want to keep the LT230 which is by far LR's best transmission, i had thought of a hemi conversion years ago to my 85 RRC with TF727 which i believe the hemi still uses the old Chrysler bellhousing pattern.

  6. Poly bushes dont press in ( RRC/D1/ 110/90/130), they generally fall in which is why i wont use them. Plus in our mostly dry climate i have found that dust gets in and chews them out , only place i will use them is in the panhard rod as it gives a more positive feel than rubber and is more resistant to oil (steering box leak more often than not).

They are good for leaf sprung models though and should only require a gentle tap to get them in.
