  1. After a visit into the workshop after (another) long lay off, I wondered why the old girl wouldn’t fire up. Not so much as a fart, fizz or bang. Anyway after mucho head scratching and drinking of Heineken I traced it to a loose wire in EDIS connector. See inserted needle. How do I go about removing this wire and redoing crimp?
  2. Guess its a case of ‘I used to’ or ‘I know someone’
  3. That would be awesome Simon. I’m home every Tuesday and Sunday so just whenever suits you. No big rush. I’ll PM my mobile number and you can’t ping me a text whenever suits.
  4. Thanks guys. I certainly have plenty of food for thought now.
  5. Thats an idea I hadn’t thought of. Might even be a little more aesthetically pleasing. Brings a few other questions though. What would be the best timber to use for this? And how do I attach the battens to existing concrete? Normal rawl type fixings?
  6. I was hoping to get away with digging further down. Baring in mind that this garage just sees foot traffic. No vehicles in this one.
  7. Hmmm. The more I’m learning, the more I’m thinking I should just in-fill the low area at door to eliminate the trip hazard. It never occurred to me that 50mm would be an awkward height but after having it explained it makes sense.
  8. There are no splits in the existing to make me think there is a structural problem. Just a little bit of crumbly surface damage here and there the width of a teaplate. Certainly nothing worth pulling it up for. I really don’t want to do that. Im not concerned about losing height but can’t go higher than approx 50-60mm or it would be higher than drain channel. Simon I’ve just seen your location. I’m in Southcraigs, Kilmarnock!
  9. After having the ground at front of house levelled and a new driveway done, the drive is about 2" higher than existing concrete garage floor. As some of the garage floor is damaged I thought I would just re-concrete it and bring it up level. Ive never done any concrete/cement work before. Can anyone run me through the steps of what I need to do. Floor is approx 6m x 3m.
  10. No visibility of ecu status. I won’t attempt any more until I do.
  11. I don’t have tuner studio yet. I was hoping that the basic map on Nige’s ecu would be ballpark enough to get it running.
  12. I was trying to keep it going feathering the throttle but it was having none of it?
  13. Good and bad news today. Fired up and ran. For 2/3 seconds then stopped. Waited a bit. Started and ran for another 2/3 seconds and stopped again. Fuel pressure issue? Im scared what this start/stopping is doing to my cam lobes and spark plugs...
  14. Had time for a quick looksee today. Getting spark. Very strong spark actually by the look of it. No juice going to FP for some reason so need to investigate that. Will update over weekend.
  15. Will do Nige. Should get a look at it Sunday. PM me the best number to get you on.
  16. I haven’t downloaded tunerstudio yet. That’s a good shout Jon as I meant to do that and forgot. busy with work now but will get another crack at it Sunday and report back.
  17. Yep the whole kit from Nige. I always thought there was something I needed to load? It says on disc that I needed to choose the msq file for the 4.6 but I can’t seem to see any files on disc other than the guide itself. I must be doing something wrong. When i turn key all the way to start nowt happens.
  18. As title. Are they any good? im starting to load my own shotgun cartridges and was looking at one of these. I know they are I expensive for what they are.
  19. I think you should all chip in and award it to me. Failing that you can maybe help with my ineptitude. life always seems to get right in the way of my build but I will not be deterred! So this morning I get into the cobweb covered 110 (obligatory landy spider obviously still present and correct) armed with my laptop, MS build CD and serial lead. Now 1st things 1st. I do not have Adobe. It’s some cheap generic thing called Sumatra or something. However I can read Nige’s CD so don’t think that’s a problem. It says on the disc there should be .MSQ files that I need to download for my engine size - 4.6 in my case. But therein lies the problem. I cannot seem to see any of these files. I can only see the ‘build instructions’. Nothing else. Am I doing something dopey or do I have wrong disc. Additionally, when I turn on ignition I hear a click from relay board at the same time 2 leds light up but then 1 goes out leaving the middle one on.
  20. Extremely bored this am I checked some reg numbers from couple old cars I saw on tv. Used the tax check website. First was an old blue cavalier from Minder - that came back as a red Nissan. Then I checked a white Capri from The Professionals - that came back as a white DAF truck! I didn’t think reg numbers could be transferred?
  21. So. Are we any closer to actually knowing what the replacement is going to look like or is it the usual renders..... what's the bloody hold up?
  22. Those are very nice Doug. And not a fortune either. Wonder if they have any black ones left
