  1. hi all. a question about the alarm keyfob. i have a 1994 rrc softdash. when i bought it ,it only came with one key and one alarm keyfob. i really need to get another one of each just in case they get lost etc. i presume getting a key cut won't be a problem as it doesn't appear to be coded , but the fob may be a different matter. i have seen fobs on e-bay , but they quote frequencies. i haven't a clue what frequency my fob is.. i have pulled it apart and found the code...ema17/94, and on the outer casing it says...mpt1340. does anyone know what these mean, and should i look out for either when ordering a fob. or will any fob do. i have found the programming procedure on the internet , but this doesn't mention fobs much other than they are single button fobs the same as mine. any help would be very much appreciated, and happy new year to you all....dave
  2. hi. i've been thinking about adding a p38 dse to the family, but when i check out the various advertisers (e-bay included) a considerable amount of cars have had major engine work. engine replacement, cyl heads, oil pumps etc, etc. is there a known fault with these engines, and are they to be avoided?
  3. hi all. i took the steering wheel off the other day to set it straight (one of those jobs i've finally got round to). unfortunately the air bag connector came out of the airbag. i was wondering if there is a way of resetting the system as the srs light is now permanently on. rrc 300tdi softdash 1994 many thanks in advance.....dave
  4. many thanks for reply, will go and check now!
  5. hi all. over the last few days i,ve noticed a steering wheel wobble when cornering. doesn't do it when in a straight line.also the steering seems a little stiff (compared to my pajero). i took off the steering uj assy to check for any siezed joints, all ok,then i decided to try it with the steering damper off. now when i corner while under power i get a massive wobble , which continues unless i back off the throttle. it seems similar to cornering my old series 2a whilst in 4wd. i have'nt got loose wheels, and it isn,t a tracking or wheel balance problem. i presume it could be a worry with the viscous drive in the transfer box. is there any way of checking this,or is it possible to try it with the front prop removed. any ideas gratefully received. by the way it is a rrc 300tdi auto
  6. hi all. this is my first post (of many i suspect) so please bear with me. i have a 1994 soft dash vogue 300tdi auto, which i bought 4 weeks ago. I subsequently found that it changed down of its own accord at 70mph. i only had a week before going to france in it for a fortnight, so i bought another 4hp22 gbox secondhand, and fitted that. i did find that the replacement box was slightly shorter than the original gbox (the difference being in the length of the govenor housing at the rear). after modifying the mounting holes and the front prop the box fitted fine, and works well. the problem is the transmission tunnel gets really hot inside the car, especially the cubby box and around the electric window switches. i have just done over 1000 miles in the last two weeks with no obvious adverse effects. i was wondering if there is normally some sort of insulation above the gbox, or if it may be a problem with the transfer box now it is mated to a v8 gbox. i changed all oils etc before going away, and kept a close eye on engine oil and gbox fluid while away. all levels remained constant. all replies gratefully received
