  1. Aye Fridge the flappy discs are awaiting their job..... as you say, solid for now. All set for our adventure north east of scotchland near end of June. If anyone is knows of any nice places for 3 respectable 🤔 Land Rover owners to camp and have a braw fire. Suggestions welcome. We’re head up to Pennan 😊👍
  2. Ok we went for a repair the now, to stop the rain etc from accelerating it. So I know it doesn’t look pretty (but I kinda like it rough ooooo errrrr) but it’s a heluva lot better and the riveted patch was indeed hiding another bit of rot so that’s been taken care of for now..... I’ll tidy it up a tad when I have time
  3. Yes want it to last. So need to plan to get some decent time on it and get wing off etc 👍
  4. Was thinking the same Fridge although it does seem sturdy enough. Is this looking like a wing off job? Dash too?
  5. ok here’s how it’s looking, thoughts? Rest of the pillar seems good. Behind the wing the bulkhead is going a tad bit not too bad. I can see behind the dash board a bit that look about to go....
  6. Just pitching in with my 2.5na temp pattern. I did. Thermostat change at the start of the year as someone on here suggested my thermostat was maybe jammed open. After a saga with a snapped bolt in the thermostat housing 🙄 the new 88 thermo went in. So from my temp gauge only just getting onto the dial before, it now sits just before half way. If I’m going at warp speed (55mph) it goes up to a smidge before halfway. I know the gauges aren’t too accurate but heading up towards the red I’d get things checked out 👍
  7. Thanks guys so far, here’s a wee pic of the area, apart from the hike on A pillar, the rest looks as if it’ll rub down and maybe a patch? Other side looks like it’s been done before with Galvi 😊🙏
  8. I’ve bought the floor section from YRM before and happy with that. I think (and hope) that when I rub down the corners the smaller repair panels will be enough. 🙏🏻 Have never done this before so hence the worry a tad. Looking through some YouTube videos I’m now better aware of what’s under it all.
  9. Hi guys, not been on in a while..... that’s a good thing right? So the dreaded bulkhead usual suspect seems to be gathering pace on my landy..... it’s also got a slight hole on the A pillar just below the mirror. So I’m very scared of going in but it needs to be done before it goes too far.... so this weekend I’m going to rub down and investigate further. It will for sure need a patch I reckon so what metal is best? I’ve seen these. https://yrmit.co.uk/product/bulkhead-repair-panels-per-pair-land-rover-defender-series-23/ but unsure about the A pillar section. Thanks in advance 😊
  10. Ok so all parts ordered. Steve B I think with the state of our roads the vibration has snapped it loose. Do you think a couple of rubber washers added to the set up would have helped?
  11. The weld on bracket would work I think.... but I’ve no welder (need to speak nice to the mate) 🍺🍺 I’ve ordered nice shiny new brackets and bushes etc for the clamp. I’ll get the YRM bracket ordered too 👍
  12. That looks a different set up to mine. My bracket looks like this with a U clamp round the exhaust so no rubber mount and my exhaust doesn’t have the bar welded to it 🤔
  13. Afternoon gents, ok after hearing a vibration when reversing up the drive yesterday, on inspection my rear crossmember exhaust bracket has snapped. Now looking online I can’t find a bracket the same so I’m wondering if this has been made up by previous owner? Is there such a part can buy and bolt back on?
  14. I like the look of the smooth finished protectors too. Not sure about the cost of shipping but bearmach have these. https://bearmach.com/3mm-black-wing-top-protector-ba-113b-3p
  15. How did you get on? You’ll get it sorted with patience Platoon..... There’s a lot to learn about the Green Oval. No one knows it all, but this is the place to be for help. Before you changed the lamps on your dash, was it working ok?
  16. https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/All+Oil+Seals/c4747_5571/index.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1qiPiY7v2QIVxJEbCh0oaww2EAAYASAAEgKTd_D_BwE lots of seals made from rubber 🤓
  17. Colin I did my front calipers in August (I think). Replaced rather than refurbished. So far all is good. I went for bearmach. After a harsh scottish winter, they are still performing well. Still got the old genuine LR ones for when I get my workshop built and can pass some time with a beer and refurbish. I’m hoping the BM last many years. 🙏🏻
  18. Could you not put the spare wheel on the rear door? 🤔 or is the weight the problem? Hence the swing away carrier.... tidy looking truck Scotts90. Has that ever seen the tarmac? 😂👍
  19. No pictures = did it really happen? 😂😂👍 well done, bet they were glad to see you!!
  20. Wow hope all concerned are ok !! I’ve got a kayak 🤔🤔😂
  21. Oft !! I’m only building a 10ft x 10ft workshed. I was thinking a wee stove and chimney out the side. 😳🔥
  22. LRFE yes they generate their own power from the heat. (As you probs know) I would highly recommend them. The one on the right looking at the pic is from eBay £55 and the one on left is from Aldi £25. No difference in performance. Im building a workshop this year and am very tempted to fit a small stove in there to keep me toasty when the hail is giving it Laldy fae the heavens.
  23. Another reason why I love this forum, there’s a nice vibe about the place, I’m sure you will get some soon. Even better when the Landy’s are in them 😊👍❄️ Stay safe all.......
