Well the saga continues, eventually managed to get the wiper motor out and fitted a new Bearmach one from Paddocks plus new wheelboxes but then the wipers would not park. Fiddling with the old motor got that working again and with that the wipers park ok so thought the new motor must be faulty, sent it back to Paddocks for refund a month ago but still waiting their suppliers findings that they agree it is faulty.
As it's a real hassle removing the AC panel I thought it best not to risk just putting back the old motor and then it packing up again in short order and rather than try again with another Paddocks one I decided to get my local Landy garage to fit what they claim is a better type, not as expensive as a genuine LR part but a bit more expensive than the Bearmach but after a month's wait this is still on back order! Is there a world shortage on decent wiper motors! Luckily the Landy is not needed at the moment but I just want to get this sorted and done with!
To cap it all the rear offside door lock is now jammed tight and yesterday I broke the up button trying to free it, so now have to try removing door panel while still in the shut position which I don't think is going to be easy but let's see, I'm sure the Landy is getting his own back for bringing him back to the cold, wet carp we call British weather!.
