  1. yes, but needs new wheel nusts and a centre ring (can be found on eBay)
  2. Spotted a very muddy trayback on trailer behind a burgundy Toyota land cruiser (with snorkel, etc) on the hard shoulder on the M5 (before Bristol)... Orange van was already on site... anyone of you ??? Also big Thank You to Anton (OEC), who told me... "no problem to access Uplowman site.... easy track... Adrian will be there until 4pm".... He just forgot that my Disco was on slicks.. and Adrian had already left the site at 3:30pm.... (But happy to say that I did not need a tow to go back to the road... but the disco needs a serious clean now and the tow bar is well scratched ...) I hope that Adrian managed to retrieve his porn DVDs...
  3. I'll pop around at the camp site on saturday late aftwernoon. Note that I'll be at D44 in the morning... so if you need anything, please pm me before firday 1pm, (otherwise Mr Turner has my mobile)
  4. Congratulations to Team Gigglepin (Jim & Chris) for winning for Trophy !!!

    waxoyl

I've done mine with Dinitrol spray cans. Did not have the budget to have it done by a professional. I found Dinitrol better than waxoil; not as oily, dried quicker, good coverage, and good choice of products in the dinitrol range
  6. I will be going from Kent... was there last year.. a great show.... not overcrowded, lots of actions and a few good traders.
  7. i notice that you have more axle articulation with your bike than the disco... and the bike cost more that your disco as well !!!!!
  8. A standard Disco 300tdi auto speedo is usually reading 6% lower than true speed yours is way off...
  9. or get 2 sepatate portable ones... At least the kids dont fit to decide what film to watch... trust me.. 2 screens, 1 film.. does not work on long journey
  10. I know (and have seen) a few Matzker tuned D90 and D110 between 199bhp and 202 bhp (rolling road tested) there must be others I'm sure... but always hard to see the charts
  11. I need to re-book my Disco on the rolling road... That was my chart from last year... (196bhp / 400Nm) with a standard turbo since then I've got: - a new AFM (mine was in agony) - latest boost module from Pete (BAS) - another map (I'm peaking at lower rpm now) - proper exhaust system... I must be over the 200bhp by now Then I'll fit he VNT !!! Another know of a proper clutch and gearbox ???? (got the feeling it will not last long)
  12. I'd say Gigglepin4x4 as well if you are in the Kent area
  13. If the ARB is disconnected and the pipe "sealed" by the scrutineer, is that OK for Class 2 (i'm rebuilding my Disco and may have a rear ARB... but with a slow winch and small tyres, I dont see myself going to class1)
  14. I know that Innovation4x4 / GPC were looking at creating a set of sliders for Discos. Not sure if they have completed that project
  15. OK.. but my mate has one of those in a crate a home... so just might just use it for a project... so no idea where to find a bell housing or plate ???
  16. Hello, Looking for a bellshousing/conversion plate to mate a diesel 5.7l (from an Oldsmobile) to a ZF4HP22 any pointer ? thanks Xav
  17. That's what I like with Andy (Allisport). He does not not mind having his products tested. If he comes up top, good, if he doesn't, so what... Having the most powerful td5 is "easy".... having the most powerful engine and staying within the reliability limit is something else... In term of "drag race".. there are some talk about having on of the runway open for testing at the Manby Show 09... after Steve and Barry saw me and Pete (Bell Auto) racing on the runway at Manby 08, they thought it would be great having it for more people....
  18. The good thing with NOR wings is that you can use them to make some interesting designs... RRc-based trayback of a good friend of mine in France... Before you make any comment... the suspension is not done as yet.. hence the bad arches clearance...
  19. I have to say that I've always been lucky with the LR Dealerships... - my local is Beadles LR in Sidcup... I get my small spare parts there (always get at least 10% off), always wander in the show room, and park my muddy Disco 1 on a regular basis between RR Vogue.. The parts manager is a great guy, most salesmen are OK - but top mark go to James (a senior salesman) at Lancaster LR Reading... He was brilliant when i bought the yellow G4.
  20. Hello, I got my '53 Disco td5 tuned by Andy (Allisport) ( and Pete -Bell Auto- indirectly) - big intercooler - turbo boost module (the new one - released by Pete after June 08 - better than the previous one) - EGR kit - remap - ITG filter and had a 3in custom made exhaust fitted (from Dynoflow). the Disco is running at 200+BHP and 400+Nm. Don't have the latest dyno... I had a few maps and tweaks done over the last 18m. One thing was that the Disco was already very good before tuning... some td5 are better than others the good news is that I'm averaging 31mpg with: 40% town driving, 20% UK M-way (70mph) and 40% EU M-Way (85mph - mostly with roof box) there are a lot of supplier to choose from... the power/torque figure is one thing, the most important is to get the map that fits your driving style/use. in term of improvement following the rpm (for my current map): - low range: small - mid range: big - high range: average which is the best for my use. you may need a map that gives more low range for towing or off-roading. I know that Andy/Pete have a few maps in stock.
  21. Reading some comments about the use of climbing/ski/bmx helmet.... A climbing helmet may restrict you when inside the cab as they tend to have a large gap on top of you head (designed to take and absorb a falling rock), they are very light but not as stable. so if you are already tall, you are going to bang the helmet on the roof all the time ! BMX and skiing helmet are close fit, and would be more suitable for off-roading.
  22. You will need the registration documetns (V5), the certificate of conformity (you can have it from LR France for ??? Euros), No major modifications to pass the control technique (Frent MOT)... be careful about tyre size (no more than 3 or 5% off the OEM size) and as said before, you can ask question on the french forum www.landmania.com/forum
  23. My Disco G4 Ltd Edition has difflock and ETC. both working together is hard to beat...
  24. Hello, Just spoken to Steve (Innovation4x4) - they are at Billing- Apparently, all been sorted.. trouble was at customs... the new set of arches has been sent. You should get them within days. so I'm just passing the message and hope you get what you ordered. Steve and Barry are very nice chaps and always make sure the customer is happy... but you cannot always get 100% perfect results... (PS: I don't work for/with Innovation4x4... but they are friends...)
  25. Yes they will compatible.. but... same as before.. as the Disco is heavier the shocks will fell a bit soft...
