Clutch Problem
Sharp Pointy Thing replied to Sharp Pointy Thing's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
Hi Les I've just been to check and now its like its connected to nothing! So is it serious-pulling-apart time? -
Hi all My 90 has been sat for a while (months) and now refuses to move without stalling! You can depress the clutch and engage a gear, but the slightest movement upwards with the peddle releases the clutch fully and stalls the engine....even in low box. The only way to move it is start it in low 1st and leave it there. Errrr help please! Thanks SPT

My dad's friend did that many years ago, when he was called out in his 109 breakdown truck to a guy who'd driven his car into a ditch.....pulled him out, asked for his payment and the guy said "na, sod you I'm not paying you, well you pulled me out now!" My dad's friend replied "oh ok, it's like THAT is it?" "yeah it is, what you going to do about it?" So he got back in the 109, reversed, pushed him in the ditch and drove off.... he'll probabaly pay up next time!

Indeed we did but someone had to "fight our corner" as it was a very one sided rant! I notice a lot of posts have been deleted today though, including ours

Hi Welcome to the forum A friend of mine has those on his 90 (not sure what size) he says they're great on the road and quite good at the greelaning he's done so far, until he ripped on open on a rock As for the stud holes, don't worry about it they are a "winter tyre" by the looks of it, but I know my old Kumho' had the holes and I think my BFG Mud Terrains have them too. 255/65/R16 will fit fine on a standard 90, my BFG's are 265/75/R16 and only just rub in the arches on full artriculation, my suspension is completely standard too. Have fun, (Western should be along shortly to do his "new user bit" ) SPT

Tyres for Defender 110-Which Measure?
Sharp Pointy Thing replied to ebdesignDEFENDER's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
Hi Mack I'm running the the same 265/75, on modulars, with standard suspension (but on my 90) and my rims are 7" Hope that helps....and stops pux having to clean the give off his wheels to find the stamp -
I too like the forum the way it is......I went through 2 other forums that seems friendly and helpful on the surface, but actually quite rude when you got down to it, so I kept podding on and found LR4x4 and I've been here since. The Tech advise from the likes of Les and so on is second to none...I look here before the Haynes Manual....I've just rebuilt my front hub using one Les' "how to's", asked him advice on it by PM and it was all spot on (cheers for that by the way Les ), none of the "listen you daft ****...." I was getting from other forums. My initial post suggesting of the OT forum was just a idea and I can see why you don't want to go down that road, plus if I want to chat utter s***e then it's off to Sounthern Downhill to talk.....errrrr...."current events".....hmmm....yes that'll do.... Forum works very well as it is.....although do I think you're missing out on the "Hot Girls Thread" from SDH Keep up the good work guys

Might be sticking my head out....but here goes....couldn't we have an "Off Topic" forum where you could dicuss whatever you like as long as it's not; illegal, offensive to others, etc, etc, etc... I'm a menber of few downhill mountain biking forums and they all have the "Chill Zone" Just a thought
-
On that note.....why do people put "PM sent" in the For Sale section? I thought the point was it's a PM?? Sorry if this is a rubbish post
-
We had some but by the time I'd finished rebuild the hub and filling diff with oil, there wasn't much left ... Enough to go sledging though B)
