  1. I have run my 300 truck cab 90 with a straight through exhaust exiting just behind the passenger door for 4 years now, off road is fine but after 10 mins on a dual carrageway your passenger will suffer some form of industrial deafness.
  2. Many thanks very useful, will defiantly be giving it a go
  3. I am looking at rear mounting the radiator on my 300TDI 90 truck cab and can not find much helpful information on Google, the truck is only used for challenge events so am concerned on reliability, performance and cost in that order. What is the best solution???????????? What about the oil cooler and intercooler?????? What do you do with the small pipe on the rad????? Can you use the existing rad???? Any success stories or pictures would be appreciated
  4. Hi Steve - will be good to catch up mate
  5. I did mine with some 100x50x3 box section and some folded sleeves down the chassis rails and its held up well to a good battering, but it is as easy as you say just don't set the wiring loom on fire as I did, you will be surprised at how much crud is inside the chassis. Good luck
  6. This was my first event with BADLRC and I can assure you it wont be my last, something for every one, well set out technical punches, amusing special stages, user friendly marshalls and a fantastic social. Well done to all involved in producing such a sccessful event.
  7. Did you get a punch last year Dan You need to get back to the manual TDI's mate. Never mind if i remenber correctly I didnt finsh on sunday after picking on a tree that was bigger than me and the truck together:blush: But it was a superb event and real good social, would recomend to any one!

  11. I am up for it but are still waiting for the MSA licence so hope it comes through in time, do we need to be a member of BADLRC as well? Is this a camping site or do we need to find digs?
  12. Cheers mate, dont think you will convert me to all that electronic stuff
  13. Thanks for the input will have to be nice to the wife for a few days to get a cheque out of her but it does look like the way forward to me.
  14. Thanks for thst David, what % aditional assist / steering power would you say the kit provides? and is it a simple bolt on DIY job?
  15. This has proberbly been discused before but has anyone had any experiences with the Llama 4x4 Hydro assist steering kit, dont want to go full hydro because of the mechanical link that alot of event organisers like, the Llama kit looks the part and seems to be reasonable value for money but I have never seen it installed on a truck. Thanks Chris
  16. You can count me in Mr Nick just have to find a culprit to team up with, when do you think you will be firming up the dates? Have done 2 events at Coney Green farm now both run by xtremelandy and they were fantastic, well organised and also very good socially, I would challenge anyone who says that the sites not suitable for this type of event if its set out with a bit of imagination (and a digger ) it will be raw the lads at xtremelandy have been doing this for years. It seems predictable that everyone with a trayback says that it makes no advantage at all or is it just that since they fit the traybacks that the didnt get any better , in my opinion the lads with traybacks have a very agresive driving style knowing that very little damage can take place and do seem to complete tight stages and punches quicker than us standard bodied trucks. Cant see a problem with traybacks against tubs, the end results will certainly put an end to the theorys
  17. As last year another fantastic event , well done to Nick Anderson and Nev for securing first place(Just ). Well done to Nick and the crew from xtremelandy for ensuring that all went well and setting out an event for all levels, Col and Ros for a superb barbeque and all the sponsers for some top prizes. Was good to catch up with all the usual culprits, but not good to camp on site, Saturday night was ffff freezing. Cant wait to here more about the king of the tray backs event thats going to be held next year and who will be competing, or not I know that I will even though I dont have one . Has anyone got any pictures?
  18. Adrian mate, it was registered as a clubman event on the licence (atention to detail!) but I agree it was a good one
  19. fantastic event as usual, many thanks to the Challenger 4x4 crew for looking after us all so well, some very competative action for a clubman event but was good to see a few of the big boys playing out and learn some new tricks from them, as for damage most things on the truck are now broken, the old boilers going to be in dock for a while now but I am sure she will live to see another event. Once again many thanks to Paul, Lucy and the team for puting together another extra special event.
