  1. Ashcrofts have this machine already.
  2. Water pump pliers or a well direct tap with a large screwdriver on the edge of the nut.
  3. This Thread would be better for the Views of non affiliated people it reads far too much like an Advert. I had Ashcroft CVs never ever had an Issue and the service was first class I ran Maxidrive shafts these were the very best available at the time and cost me £880 cash at the time. Great to be given details of products but people with nothing to gain/Lose posting up would be ideal.
  4. http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=61515&pid=534243&st=0entry534243
  5. From Hobson a new bearing ID: the code for it is: 6203-2RSH-C3
  6. Should try enlarging the Breather to the axle this can also cause the oil to blow-by.
  7. Cobra=bombproof Maycom em27 IIRC =sh**E
  8. yes as Nigel will take full control as soon as he is made a signatory on the main account.
  9. Only as I am still the treasurer. treasurer@lr4x4.com goes to mine and Nigels Email addresses for notification so the money can be moved to the current account from Pay-pal.
  10. Well lets have your version then. I'll post mine including phone call records/pm activity including all discussions then the members can decide who is telling the truth and decide if you should have access to the For sale section. I personally would rather pay your subscription amount and decline your offer as I know mine would turn up. this thread is about this website and not you. Post up as above another thread if you like, post on this one again stuff not relevant it will be removed, as it is not a sounding board for your gripes.
  11. Few Answers: No money goes to My accounts all monies go into the Forums Pay-pal Account or Direct to the LR4x4.com LTD account nothing is taken by any moderator/admin for running costs/admin etc and I mean Nothing. We can readily have an accounts status but the downside is people look and think oh they have £2K that is plenty.. it in real terms means around 9months ideally it would be ideal to have 12months always in the kitty. a small standing order for £2-3 per month from members would see the site in Rude Financial health. The money Bomb idea is good but I see it on the SLK forum I use and it can be somewhat annoying IMHO. I would hate to see Adverts on this forum in any guise. Yes I am retiring as Treasurer but that doesn't mean I care Not about the site which I have been involved in from day 1 and only have its interests at heart. Any ideas/suggestions are gratefully received and the mods/admins that will take the site forward I'm sure are glad of all help.
  12. Ryan are you an Intelligence Finance customer? I am trying to track down a standing order payee that is paying into the old account.
  13. we are still receiving x1 standing order payment from a member for £3 into the old forum account it is coming from Intelligent Finance but the S/O does not supply a member name all monies are manually transferred but it would make life far easier to get these details amended. if you are the payee please contact me asap or Nigel so we can supply the correct info.
  14. There are no shims on the I/P gear inside the box if the outer bearing carrier is not marked it is less than Ideal but no a show stopper to reuse it. I would replace it as the job is a simple one to complete.
  15. No tube required it presses in very easily as the box is Alloy unlike a wheel bearing race I have done this job twice on different cars and never had a noise, howl or any overheating no Shims required as there are none on the I/P gear inside the box. The lower cover is the one on the base of the t-box held on with 10mm bolts. oblong shape Aragorn you are a Doom monger-er. what are you saying needs shimming? I have had an underdrive that bolts straight on as do all underdrives, overdrives no shimming required then removed and refitted a brand new I/P gear no issues again used original bearing carrier and cover.
  16. You can remove the outer race(within the box itself)if you drain the box and remove the lower cover with a pry bar and CARE No shims nothing! remove PTO cover withdraw old gear (replace bearings as you see fit) replace gear(ensuring it is full seated), replace cover. refit lower cover if you decide to replace outer race(within the T box) refill if you drained it and drive off.
  17. No just a bearing, be mindful of the direction of drive as the steering pump on a tdi cannot be reversed.
  18. WVA in Bradford made/make them supply direct if required Galv'd then powder coated.
  19. Perfectly acceptable just make sure you taper the ends as much as you can to avoid lumps inside the ropes, I have never had a rope snap at a splice when done correctly as above.
  20. It is my pleasure to announce that Nigel Barker is to become the Treasurer of LR4x4.com LTD I am resigning my roles with LR4x4.com as Work and other commitments have now taken precedence. I will still be around the place, but not in any administrative roles. I leave the Board of the LTD company today we are in safe hands with the team at the helm and now just into its fifth year the board is a strong place with a huge resource of superb members, a far cry from the humble beginnings. I have made many friends on the site and around the globe through the common interest of Land Rovers. thanks All.
