  1. Mmmm ,not very impressive for a BMW engine with only just over 100k miles ,guess its gonna be around 650 quid for a pump unless anyone knows better? , how many hours labour to fit one?
  2. Thanks for that ,so it could well be the cause of a "dead throttle" on my P38 ? Ive recently fitted a EGR valve eliminator as I had the same problem before but to no avail. I can see the L322 and the TD4 use a vacuum reservoir in conjunction with this but the P38 dose not ,wonder if BMW decided it was necessary on later models?
  3. STC4198 P38 Boost Control / Converter Assem ....what dose it do? These are fitted to both the TD4 Flander and the 2.5 P38 ,My P38 occasionally has a "dead" throttle ,I ve been told this controls boost along with the MAP sensor and may be the cause ,any ideas ? Thanks In Advance Rotor
  4. Hi Anyone know where I find the chassis number on a LHD 1985 ex army 110 ? Cant see it in front of the r/h fr wheel . Thanks In Advance.
  5. Hi My 99 P39 diesel auto is suffering from what appears to be the common loss of power , driving along nicely then the power goes from a few seconds to a few minutes,Ive hooked it up to a Hawkeye diagnostic box and have got 4 !!! faults but I`m unsure what they mean exactly, anyone have experience of this, what needs changing?? In this order , CODE 132 CHARGE PRESSURE SENSOR CODE 136 NEEDLE VALVE CODE 15 CONTROL MODULE VOLTAGE SUPPLY CODE 25 ANTI THEFT SYSTEM Ta Rotor
  6. Hi Where is the air temp sensor , STC2302 , on a 1999 Diesel P38 mounted ? Image attached. Ta Rotor
  7. Have a look at this http://stores.ebay.co.uk/allisport/Range-Rover-P38-2-5-Tdi-/_i.html?_nkw=allisport&_fsub=1943909017&_ipg=&_sasi=1&_sid=92853487&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
  8. Hi My P38 diesel auto ,year 99 has started ticking over erratically and the revs even go up and down very slightly when driving at slow speeds ,also occasionally it has a "dead " throttle pedal , nothing there for upto 7 or 8 seconds then it starts running fine again. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Rotor
  9. Hi My P38 fr r/h window wont reset, it just keeps running when the lift button is pressed and causes the gear on the mechanism to ratchet like a machine gun! Any ideas? Ta Rotor
  10. Anyone got any tips for immobilising my 300tdi SW whilst parked in dodgy areas? With so few electronics on the engine it seems difficult.
  11. Anyone fitted a double cardan/uni joint front prop off a TD 5 Disco to a 96 300tdi RR classic with a Borg Warner? can it be done? do you need to change the output flange on either the diff or the transfer box? Ta Rotor
  12. My Defender 300tdi runs fine other than when I start it every morning I get white smoke , I have to go down a very steep drive so I decend with no throttle and get clouds of white smoke, it clears after around half a mile and never smokes for the rest of the day.??Turbo?
  13. Anyone have the paint code for the Camel Trophy yellow? Thanks In Advance. Rotor
  14. Hi My P38 Diesel lost it fan when the viscous undone itself ,never heard of this before?? consequently it overheated and I think the turbo is toast as it wont rev above 1500 rpm unless I disconnect the inter cooler hoses,it ticks over as sweet as a nut and dose not over heat, do I fit a new head gasket regardless? turbo will be removed soon for inspection. This happened to you ? Comments appreciated.
  15. Just tried the new Bearmach Hawkeye diagnostic unit on my P38 2.5 diesel which runs like a sack of _hit over 20 mph and it shows two fault codes , where can I get more info on these two particular problems regarding rectifying them, they are as follows, `FAULT CODE 136 NEEDLE LIFT SENSOR` (dose this mean injector no4 needs changing?) `FAULT CODE 15 CONTROL MODULE SUPPLY VOLTAGE` (ECU has a fault?) Any advice appreciated.
