  4. Hi it was a 2.5dt. yes i have the bullet part and will just connect a female spade to the other end of the wire and it should fit the back of the gauge.
  5. I dont no. i am using a previous loom from the original engine, i then installed the 300tdi engine and noticed it wasnt there, all wiring was there apart from the temp to engine bit. so im having to use the wire from the 300tdi loom to attach gauge to engine. for some reason all the other wires are in the back of the gauge,
  6. Thanks, so hopefuly the other wires connected to the gauge work and when i fit the new wire everything should be ok. il let youknow when i connect the wire. thanks again
  7. Hi sorry i still dont understand it. There are some wires connected to the gauge as the pictues show, there are also two wires hanging as shown. I have put some pictures up from behind the dash and the engine. The wiring is from the original 2.5dt i think and fitted the loom to the 300tdi engine, i have the wiring for the 300tdi spare so could use the wire that plugs to the engine.
  8. oh so all it i do is plug to the engine and in the bak of the gauge, no other wires? wel i think its the right wire, it fits on the engine part, but never been conected to the dash
  9. sorry. its a 300tdi engine in an 1987 defender orininaly had a dt engine in. but i wouldnt mind fitting a new gauge in ther.
  10. Hi, my engine doesnt have a temp gauge connected. How do i connect it? i have the wire that plugs onto the engine but i dont know how to connect it to the gauge and make it work. Could any body help

  14. Hi, i just re read this, if i bought the bracket do i have to buy the runners aswell, or will the seat just fit to the bracket? also i couldnt find the brackets by exmoor

  16. so this item fits the 36spline, does it have screw fitment 6x 70mm pdc?
  17. Again great thanks alot. the mounted frame is the same as above for £20 and the runners arnt bad for like £23. if you head was near the roof im 6ft3 so might go for the bracket. i wasnt too concernd about the battery access as i could just undo the bolts of the seat to ge to the battery. i was just tryin to find a cheaper alternative to brackets. and thanks again this forum has helped so much and i have access to another landrover web site Top stuff, wen i fit them i will post pics to show how i did it and which brackets i used to fit them with.
  18. Oh great i found some cobra side mountings for £50 each on ebay instead of £80 from cobra, but would need 2 pair so like £100. but they are just wot i was looking for, thanks alot. the seats i have are second hand so have vw sliding runners on. but cobra says they are a universal fit. wen i get round to it i wil have a look. if not then the ones you showed me are awesome. B)
  19. I have some cobra monico s bucket seats. someone said they took the runners off ther old seat and screwed them into the bottom of the bucket seats. As the seat frame of a defender seat has back frame, bottom frame and a slide in part on the seat that can be removed. Could i remove the back rest frame and and screw the part that is attatched to the removable seat into the bucket seat? that way the seat could come off? or would i be better buying the side mountings, or making some side mounting very similar to the suplliers? Cheers
  20. Thanks, so do all steering wheels have the same fitment to attatch to the top of the boss? and its just the bottom of the boss that is different where the splines fit?
  21. So a boss kit with 36splines, and there are 6 srews on the front of the steering wheel . where can i get these boss's from, a landrover shop such ask paddocks etc? cheers
  22. Hi i found a steering wheel i wanted and found out i have a 36 spline on my defender. I have a Momo steering wheel, do i need a specific boss or can i just get one from a landrover dealer? I still dont quite understand how it works. So if you could help me out that would be great. Also i found on ebay a Universal Chrome Steering Wheel Quick Release, so i can take the steering wheel off, making it alot safer as no one can drive off in a defender with no steering wheel what do people think of these, iv seen more expensive ones for around £80. here is a link for the one on ebay if you want to take alook. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Universal-CHROME-Ste...%3A1|240%3A1318 if i got one i think id rather get the more expensive one. they fit inbetween the boss and steering wheel. B) I have nearly modified my defender thanks to all the help on this forum
