  6. clearly no point trying to reason with you. isuzu have had their share of carp engines over the years, as have toyota with cylender head issues and chassis and body rot. i have worked as a heavy plant fitter for 40 plus years, japenese pick ups are not the be all and end all.
  7. finish my 110 build on new galv chassis, bmw m57 diesel and 6 speed bmw manual gearbox , king cab and shortened hcpu body.
  8. the sum of the parts make the product, as an example do you have any experience to speak of with the bmw engine and zf transmission? my son recently had a bmw 535d with just shy of 300000 miles on the clock, original engine and transmission, was still capable of anything asked of it. i guess you know better than the people putting up the money to build the grenadier.
  9. unless you are dead of course. i have seen many men worj 80 hour weeks on the docks earning a **** ton of money, plenty of them didnt make retirement.......
  10. hard to find somebody i would trust but si is that person,
  11. if you travel up the a12 essex suffolk border i can recomend si james, hanger 53 motor works, raydon airfield. he knows the wolfe inside out.
  12. think i will carry on with my king cab 110 build, with galv chassis and bmw 3ltr diesel engine and six speed gearbox.
  13. i spoke to busseys in attleborough today, alledgedly they have 4 customer vehicles but cannot release them due to softwear update issues, still no date on their demonstrator,
  14. if you want a giggle go in to busseys in attleborough, incompatence doesn,t come close, they have not bothered keeping me updated, they have a pre production model in the showroom, almost had to fight to even sit in it.
  15. have you fitted it up yet? ie wiper boxes, dash, steering column and pedal box? trying to compare maer with ultra, a friend has just do a bulkhead swap with an ultra, the maer is about £300 cheaper.
  16. i am at the point of buying a new galv bulkead for my 110 build, does anyone have any experience of the maer bulkheads please.
  17. i work as a heavy plant fitter for a big hire company, we send machines out full, we have had our last delivery of read, the tank in our yard will be filled with white, no flushing out. no plans to change all fuel filters unless blocked or on planned service.
  18. if you are interested i have a pair of early 110 front calipers in felixstowe, no idea on condition.
  19. duncan mansfield who owned britcar has sh*t on quite a few people in the last month, he is planning to resurface as wolfdale, i knew in may britcar was in trouble when they wanted me to pay upfront on a £300 order, i have known duncan for 28 years so i knew the writing was on the wall.
  20. i have the 18v grease gun, i use it every day on excavators and tele handlers, way better than the snap on 18v
  21. when you say standard disco 300tdi ones, is that front or rear hubs please.
  22. yeah, felixstowe is a long way from everywhere.
  23. different length prop. bit of a quandry which way to go. went to buy a disc salisbury rear axle last sunday, it looked like it had spent its entire life in salt water. i too have priced up at britcar, i have known the owner for 26 years.
  24. currently thinking about disc braked rear axle for my 110 build. i have a drum braked salisbury which i have been looking to convert to disc. also looking at the rear axle fitted to the 110 puma models. am i right in thinking they are 4 pin diffs? i will be running the 3 ltr m57 bmw diesel, any words of wisdom welcomed please.
