  1. Replaced the spindle bush and seal on this pump a couple of years ago.....looking to do the distributor head O ring, hopefully in situ.
  2. Many thanks. The O ring had gone hard and split, fixed temporary with a skinny O ring, hope to get the proper fitting one next week.
  3. The injector pump has diesel dripping from the 6mm allen screw just behind the mounting flange. Before loosening the screw,I have tried to find out what could be lurking behind it spring, valve etc.Other VE pumps do not appear to have this screw.Does anyone know what its purpose is?Could it be just a case of renewing an O ring or fibre washer?
  4. Noisy crank signal will prevent starting.Check connection to the crank sensor and its clearance to flywheel.
  5. Skauldy.Use this site for parts id http://lrparts.net.ru/ click on English then Spare parts catalogue.
  6. You can buy the spacer separately part FRC7437 cheap enough.Make sure you renew the 'o' ring.
  7. Sounds like you have inadvertently changed to oil filled hubs.....not a bad conversion! But you will have to replace the single lipped oil seal FTC4785 with the double lipped seal RTC3511 if you want to avoid leaks. Also check the surface it runs on for pitting or wear.If necessary replace the stub axle or redi sleeve the area the seal runs on.
  8. The rear may have been converted to oil fed.See if the oil seal in the stub axle has been removed, the single seal oil seal holding the inner wheel bearing would have been replaced with a double lipped oil seal RTC3511.
  9. I have just changed the fuel filter on my 1999 Defender, unfortunately lost the plastic fastener[butterfly screw] that secures the steel protective cover WKT100020 .Have been unable to find the part number for a replacement screw. Are they available as a separate item?
  10. You have the choice here http://www.lrdirect.com/PEB500090-Water-Pump-300Tdi/?sfi=peb500090
  11. Don't forget your low coolant alarm and a decent coolant temperature gauge is also useful.
  12. Yes,that is the one I bought,it just drops straight through the hole!I guess i could use the metal one with a decent washer behind it.
  13. Western,Thanks for the reply, that clip you show would do the job.The broken one I removed looks like this I guess it may even be from something not LR related.
  14. This clip is broken on my 1999 Defender.I ordered a new one PRC3180 but it is different to the original. The old one does not have a mushroom end,but more of a 'W' on the bottom half followed by a square section on which sits the actual clip. Anyone recognise this description and know the part number?

    Adwest

I have just received a box for my 1999 Defender[QAF500110]Bought from LRDirect it is listed as a Britpart item but is brand new from Adwest complete with drop arm. Cost was £256 no vat but postage to OZ was £87.50 delivered in a week,so well pleased!
  16. Does anyone know of a cap similar to the PRC7925[ that fits the 300tdi expansion tank]but fits the TD5 expansion tank?
  17. There was a thread on replacing the 300TDI fan bearing on the Aulro site, you may have to register to view the photos.http://www.aulro.com/afvb/good-oil/63799-300tdi-viscous-fan-bearing-solutions-replacement-alternatives.html
  18. This is a well known scam technique, check with Google.Report it to Gumtree, definitely do not take up the offer.
  19. Have to remove sump and number 5 main bearing cap to fit the T seals.Use plenty of lube and a couple of feeler gauges to ease the seals past the block.
  20. Maybe the T seals ERR913 if the vacuum pump is ok?
  21. I recently bought a Bearmach radiator from LRSeries, cheap must admit, but I was suprised to see it was alloy and plastic.Fitted up all ok,.has been in for about a month during some >40c days using the air con.....so far so good.
  22. Just completed this job on my Disco 300tdi completely successful!Found taking digital photos of the original settings useful as a reference when reassembling, as is counting the threads on the adjustment screws[1thread =1mm]Using a wrap of alfoil over the throttle spindle splines enables the Oring to slide easily with a bit help from some vaseline and a loop of cord pulls the throttle spring back into place.
  23. Go for the extra insurance of a low coolant/temp alarm such as this haydn one http://www.coolantal...viewCat&catId=9
  24. Cooldrive quote for the Denso Em2321 fans was $275 each,so looks like the corolla fans will do the job quite satisfactory!
  25. Peter,my 300 TDI is also suffering from dead condenser fans.Which of the thermo switches operates the fan?Mine has two on the thermostat housing, I believe part numbers PRC3505 and PRC3359. My intention was to just renew the fan motors obtained from http://ishop2.cooldrive.com.au/search?q=EM2321&submit.x=16&submit.y=19 but they only deal through the trade,so hopefully can order through a local air con shop. Where did you obtain your fans and what part number did you use? As a last resort I was thinking of using a couple of Denso PM9115 fans off a mid 90's Corolla,as a quick fix whilst the hot weather is here.
