  1. Rev limiter.......boost limiter kicking in because your wastegate is sticking. Probably.
  2. M40 near jct 2 Thursday evening. LHD and full of cables . No exhaust?
  3. That is any old body thrown on just as the Freelander mule had a van body.
  4. "Is it knackered" not the best opener if you don`t mind me saying, fair response in my opinion.
  5. If it is a TD5 there is a blanked connection on top of the fuel pump for this. cut the top off and shove your fuel line into the tank.
  6. I know very little about Carbs. I learned enough about the Carb i had at the time, nine years ago! I have forgotten it all since then, confirmed by me reading the above. I went from a very basic understanding of how a carb works to knowing all of the functions of the carb i had at the time, there is a lot of information out there incl. some very good books. Maybe i could sell you a book?
  7. Hi everyone, i experienced a strange issue with my 05 Defender TD5 yesterday. I can not get fault codes read until later in the week so just wondering if the collective has any experience of the following. Drove for about an hour and parked up for an hour, truck started fine and was running as good as ever, parked up again after 30 min for about another hour and then on starting up again, during tickover the engine stutters and then surges, engine light comes on, glow plug light comes on and temp gauge crashes to zero! all this happens within a second then normal tickover and then another blip and so on. It cleared when i revved it and then drove home as normal. When the temp gauge falls it does not fall slowly like when the ignition is turned off, it goes back very quickly. I am thinking bad earth somewhere or chaffed wiring maybe, anyone had similar?
  8. Try adding an older relative, with no recent claims, as a named driver. See what happens.
  9. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-Disc-paint-/122408541556?clk_rvr_id=1187422930204&utm_content=buffer5a321&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer&rmvSB=true&clk_rvr_id=1187750309540&rmvSB=true Not the usual ebay item for this thread but I thought it was worth sharing.
  10. Another vote for the waterproof seat covers, great fit.
  11. No, that is what I have done in the past but I am replacing them with LED spares. I have two vehicles and I know I will need one sometime so not a big deal regards expense Vs convenience.
  12. I have a full set of RDX lights on both the 90 and 110. Bolt on bits ebay shop. Carrying "spare bulbs" when travelling abroad becomes expensive as you have to have a complete unit for each position, side, stop/tail, indicator. One of the best modifications for more than one reason, not least, instant brake lights!
  13. We met a French couple on holiday this year. They have it kitted out for camping and simply remove the boxes and refit second row seats for family use. 110 Station wagon...poor phone pics but you get the idea.
  14. 200 Tdi is the best engine when i`m in the 90 and the TD5 is the best engine when i`m in the barge .I could not choose between them, love them both for what they are.
  15. You are welcome. Is there info on your solar set up in your build thread? if not could you p.m. me some details? Many thanks. John
  16. With little or no load your battery voltage may be staying high after a healthy day long charge. To prove it, just turn lights/glow plugs on next time it happens. Reading your post again, if my theory was correct your batteries would remain connected! An adult will be along shortly.
  17. I am selling my 90 so decided to look on auto trader to get a feel for the market, this is the first vehicle to show in a search within 25 miles radius. I am amazed at the skill of the builder, you guys wont believe it but that is a 1975 series 3, stunning job! looks exactly like a Defender now! All parts inter changeable you know. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201605013519972?make=land_rover&price-from=3000&quicksearch=true&onesearchad=new%2Cnearlynew%2Cused&price-to=3500&sort=default&postcode=sl98jq&radius=25&page=1&search-target=usedcars&model=defender_90&logcode=p
  18. No, i will try them this morning. Thanks.
  19. I have a side locker for a gas bottle and bulkhead mounted regulator. I am using copper pipe up to the cooker housing on top of the wheel box and i want to exit the side locker with this fitting.
  20. Hi Everyone, i am plumbing a gas supply into my 110 and need a 8mm through bulkhead compression fitting with a elbow one side, like this one..... https://www.svb24.com/en/gok-bulkhead-fittings.html I can find and already have the straight ones but can`t find any with the 90 deg elbow in the U.K. Internet searches just reveal lots of other people searching for the same thing, that is how i found the above link. I can find steel and stainless, i want brass. Anyone in the trade or knowledge of a potential supplier before i spend 30euro on one! Many thanks john
