  1. Not sure if this helps, but if you want to work out what you can tow without the 'E' endorsement on your licence, then this flowchart on the Ifor Williams website seems pretty good: http://www.iwt.co.uk/brochures/ltt.pdf Cheers Mark
  2. Nope, I've not tried Harford 4x4. Sounds worth a telephone call though - cheers! Mark
  3. Hi Jim They've got an office on Wood Street in Swindon, and seem to deal in very nearly new Land Rovers, BMWs and Audis. The people in the old EMI building are called Carshop, I think. The Disco II is in good nick, to be honest. I am planning to part exchange it and I'd like to deal with someone locally, if at all possible! Although for a nearly new one there's only really TH White - unless anyone has any recommendations! Cheers Mark
  4. Hi Guys I'm thinking that it's about time to swap the Discovery II that I have for a nice, shiny newer Discovery 3. Has anyone had any experience of dealing with Allied Trade Sales in Swindon? Thanks in advance, Mark.
  5. Thanks for the comments. My Disco does have twin elecs, but not the 13 pin style connector. Most of the trailers that I tow only have a single plug, although I did try plugging both into a friends trailer to see if it silenced it. No joy! I did think about putting a latched switch into the power feed circuit to silence the little monster when necessary, but was wondering if there was an automated solution. Oh well, looks like its time to get the wire cutters out, or to keep on using the headache tablets!
  6. Hi I have a 2003 (facelift) Discovery Td5 that has a set of the factory fitted parking sensors on it which seem to be linked in to their own ECU in the rear of the car via an over ride switch on the dashboard. Does anyone know if there is a way to make them turn off automatically (ie without me having to press the over ride switch each time I select reverse) when I am towing a trailer? The rear fog light does this, so it looks like the ability is there! I've had a search on the internet but have not managed to find anything of relevance! I'm contemplating taking a pair of wire cutters to them as they drive me mad when you are manoeuvring a trailer around in a tight space! Thanks Mark.
  7. Thought I'd reply as it was my Discovery that Les fitted the pads to (and because it gives me an excuse to make my first post!) Anyway, I'm very pleased with the little green brake pads so far - not that I've had much occasion to test them in anger yet.
