Has the option been turn on in the ICU ? (ecu)

It looks like a 300tdi disco axle....none abs/none vented

Post a pic (close up as poss) of the axle and the ends/calipers.....should beable to tell from there.

LOL.......I was doing a job on the turbo/exhaust manifold and caught the switch with the end of the ratchet handle....finished my job and went to start it....NOTHING.....lots of head scratching later after testing fuel pump etc my mate says have you pressed the cut off switch

I would have said yes....if the engine is running give the switch a swift tap with a screwdriver handle or rachet and it should cut the engine and put the hazzrds on....ask me how i know that

Yes they do.......its part of the fuel cut off switch in the engine bay.

The bolt is the sub frame mounting bolt O/S removed from underneath the car.....in the boot you will find a round disc above the bolt which is where you need to be. Sorry no wider shot....next one we get in i will try to remember to get some better shots.

Very common problem with them when the VCU is siezed.....need to half remove the subframe and cut the boot floor our and fix the crack and re-weld up. Dont have a picture of underneath as im at work.....but you will soon see when you remove the bolt and drop the sub frame.

For the cost its easyier to fit a new pump....they run at a good pressure so better to buy one thats been done right and tested.

Its normaly wear in the box that makes the seals leak so a new seal might help for a real short time as its a bit softer.....and IIRC the nut is a 41mm HTH

Find a longer spanner

Oil cooler....near oil filter housing and should have water pipes going to it....again its not something we see very often on these but more so the transit vans.

Weve had 2 Defenders in with fusebox corrosion....this rots the connections on the fuses and causes dash etc not to work. HTH

Best way to start it is towing it off...top the fuel tank up with diesel and you should have the same problems with a less % mix.

IIRC all TD5's were fitted with the dual mass flywheels to help stop transmission noise....you can fit the solid flywheels with super heavy duty clutch's but sometimes you do get a bit of gearbox chatter if the box is a bit worn.
