  1. thanks mate, much appreciated. i think this one... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221350903870?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#viTabs_0 is going to be a dog that's nothing but trouble. what do you think?
  2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1995-P38-Range-Rover-FOR-SPARES-OR-REPAIR-/191033350520?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2c7a799978 can anyone give me a opinion on this? particularly what is it worth and what will the engine likely cost? an are those airbags normal??? thanks guys.
  3. i get some really strange looks when i wave in my signwritten works van lol
  4. i get waved at in my disco by defender drivers. im thinking it might be the aggressive tyres, winch, snorkel and steering guard (and dents) that acknowledge that it goes off road.
  5. disco 1 or 2? in the disco 1 there is a 2nd battery bay behind the other headlight.
  6. t16? really? i have a disco mpi and whilst on paper it is nearly as powerful as a tdi, it has NO torque at low end (not something that would change with a turbo/supercharger) and drinks fuel. i mean 8mpg whilst towing less than 1ton behind it. i get more from a fully freighted 7.5tonner! (and easily beaten by a rv8)
  7. try farrier gear... http://www.stromsholm.co.uk/chaps--aprons-238-c.asp
  8. mark evans in a 4x4 is born shortened a 110" tub.
  9. they are the same on a iveco 75e17 if that helps lol
  10. big cummins v8 diesel. just because i've always wanted to. or a perkins v8. just because i like big.....
  11. i feel i should stick my nose in from one who has receltly tried to do the take a standard disco offroad thing. the first time i went to a pay and play day with my totally standard truck(with a winch bolted on, of course, stupid not to) i had a lot of fun but broke a few things.... like my front steering arm for instance. that prompted me to buy decent tyres and a steering guard that's all folks. ive not since broken anything bar one window sliding into a tree (got a bit ambitious on a punch hunt lol) the disco is very capable but the mods i have done i would consider essential if you want to be able to drive it home at the end of the day.. tyres because high speed road tyres have 0 grip steering guard because you are not always going to see that lump of granite or tree stump winch because you are new at this and it would be nice to be able to drag yourself out of the **** you just got yourself in....
  12. i think you're talking about the speedo-healer.... these guys make it http://www.healtech-electronics.com/
  13. i used this stuff on my snorkle. flexible and tough, but cheaper than silicone. perfect for my application. and available in different diameters. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170814024305?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fdsa.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D170814024305%26_rdc%3D1
  14. thought for the day. if a hill looks slippery and you know you'll need to be able to stop at the bottom, then just dont.. oops. slid it sideways into a tree....
  15. just do what i did and put them in the dining room
  16. any manufaturers 'DIY' range are carp. they wont put up with normal use, never mind the abuse i expect my tools to put up with. (for example, undoing shock mounts with a 1" breaker bar... with a scaffold pole on the end.) so you can be sure any tool i reccommend will be very rugged. but usually have a price tag to suit. and on that note... http://www.screwfix.com/p/makita-bhp459rfe-18v-3ah-li-ion-cordless-combi-drill-brushless-motor/35380 you wont do better than one of those. however. if you dont need the runtime (and torque)... http://www.screwfix.com/p/makita-bhp453sh-18v-1-3ah-li-ion-cordless-combi-drill/58614 same drill, damn sight cheaper.
  17. a farmer friend of mine has a pair of s3 freewheeling hubs he bought years ago and never fitted, brand new in box. and not britpart. are these of any value?
  18. okay. will do it sometime later in the week.
  19. i attended a couple of challenge days recently (used them as pay and play if im honest...) would anyone be interested in me posting the vids up that i took so you can laugh at me making a idiot of myself?
  20. this would suffice. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5m-Blue-Polythene-Sheeting-Tubing-Plastic-Sheet-Roll-1275mm-2550mm-wide-/181171591420?pt=UK_Packaging_Materials&hash=item2a2eab18fc
  21. i dont think anyone here thinks there is a problem with so many bolts, just the fact that its serious overkill. very strong looking
